Just thinking there might be a more permanent cheap fix... There is, you just take the connector out of the circuit and solder the wires together. It makes it more cumbersome to remove the seats however since it's not everyday that you do that it's probably worth the pain if the light keeps coming ...

If there's a passenger airbag then the occupancy sensor should be connected, if not then you probably don't have the occupancy sensor box of tricks under the seat to plug that connector into.

Is there any benefit to having ACS/Hamann pedal covers? Most aftermarket stuff offers some benefit (albeit with some dubious claims from the aftermarket manufacturers) however I'm struggling to see the benefit of a pedal set. Can you hear the motor trying to move when operating the switch? Have you had a look at the seat rails to see if there's anything blocking the movement fore & aft (coins are a favourite for this!) I'd go with Eibach Pedro. Quality product, lowers the car just enough and doesn't spoil the ride. You'll find plenty of positive feedback for Eibach's on here I think.
