Re: Putting a Z3 into storage?
I have left a car in gear before and ended up with the clutch rusted in place so I won't be doing that again! :shrug I'm interested to know how you think that leaving the car in neutral will affect whether the clutch seizes or not. Dampness and lack of use would have caused the clutch to seize. I'm...

Re: Cost to replace clutch
Pingu's referring to the preload applied on the prop shaft bearing. I've changed a few z3 clutches at home. Not a hugely complicated job just time consuming. All in not including my own time the cost came to £170 for LUK parts. Lee Yes. The bearing is pushed towards the engine by a number of millim...

Ask them what the pre-load is on the propshaft. If they don't know - walk away. They don't know how to do the job properly.

Get the car in the air if possible. Stop one wheel from rotating by chocking it somehow. Put it in gear with the engine off and rock the other wheel and see what moves.
It does sound like the flexible coupling, but it could be any of the joints in the transmission.

Now with distances and times
7600 miles (133 hours = 15 days @ 9 hrs per day)
or
6600 miles (124 hours = 14 days @ 9 hrs per day) if the Finland/Sweden loop is shortened by taking the Naantali/Turku-Stockholm ferry.

The Much Bigger Than DTEC Tour 2018 (or later)
I'm thinking of a tour that will be much bigger than DTEC 2016. It will take in at least 27 countries (28 if you include UK). The date will be 2018, or 2019, or maybe later. It will have to be done within 2 years of a date to be decided. I can plan the route, but not the dates. I already have a name...
