Re: Electric roof failure
You can test by bypassing the switch and cable completely at the connector by the lefthand (UK passenger) seatbelt turret. If that works, then you can start to narrow it down to either the microswitch or the cable. Another possibility is the roof up-down switch itself on the dash. I have heard at l...

There is a third cable on each side that wasnt plugged in, as below in the pic. I therefore presume this is a standard wiring loom they used but my car did...

Sorry, bit of a car novice. When you say its more likely to be the wire, how do you test that out?
Also, anyone know where you can buy the microswitch or the part number?

You reminded me of a few more jobs!!
Also need a tonneau cover. Saw a beige one go for £140 on ebay last week and it was a little scratched, was hoping to pick one up cheaper than that, oh well......
Could also do with a bonnet/Boot respray
And that list is just after 4 days ownership!

Newbie with questions, thanks all!!!
Hi All, Newbie here! My love affair with Z3’s started in 1999 when I ordered a brand new V-Reg 1.9 in topaz blue and beige leather for myself at the age of 24. Sold it 3-4 years later and knew I’d buy one again one day! That day came at the weekend when I bought the one in the image below. This is a...
