thats looking nice.

seems like your building a strong bottom end, that should be good for some serious boost with your lower CR and with a large intercooler.
that will make for some entertaining power.

what are you doing with the rear end ? diff etc ?

I think for £1500 you'd be struggling to turbo or supercharge your engine. Its not just the major items of kit, its the little items that creep in like gremlins ! you defo need a rolling road session and map for the fueling, running lean on a FI engine will soon melt it. I replaced the shocks and springs a couple of years back to AP coilovers.

Ride quality is excellent and handling/performance significantly improved.

All i have done since is change the front spring rates (increased)

the m44 has great potential for boost, very strong engine. M3 clutch is a good way to go how many revs do you want to pull ?? head work is expensive on the m44 as are the cams and followers. i bought a complete spare head to work up (still got it) but never bothered as cam and follower prices seemed...

how do you know when you have a puncture with ultraseal ?? painful if you have to persistantly check all tyres all the time for nails etc on every journey i removed my spare as its not a good design and there is nowhere for the wheel you remove off the car to go just got the bmw mobility kit now, i...

I used a lightened chromoly flywheel and clutch from a M3 3.0. ringgear and crank bolt pattern are the same. you can also use the standard release bearing arm to with this setup. held up well. very direct and used a m3 3.0 clutch slave as the 1.9´s not up to the job wih the bigger clutch cover. the 1.9 is a good nimble little car with excellent economy and cheap insurance !

just look for a clean, well looked after example. and have a look underneath if you can, check everything is in order.

viscous fan removal and replace with electric
exhaust
sports cat
remap from somebody who knows the engine

My diff isn't sloppy, but I need either a 3.25 or 3.45 LSD to be drivable . My 5 speed tremec has good ratios but 5th is an O/D at 0.62

Very kind of you Conan, not sure about the TV bit. I find it interesting personally as the other Mark (Deano) is also going through a V8 conversion. Seeing the differences between the M engine bay and ‘Vette engine against my ‘standard’ shell and Ford V8.

It had to be moved, again ! Ok, little problem here on the 1.9 engine (actually on the girlies 318ti but same difference). The heater will not blow hot for some reason, the car reaches normal gauge temp in 5-10mins, so that appears fine, all the cars hoses get hot, including the heater matrix hoses, rad gets hot and pressurise...
