I have Pzeros on my MR and they are lasting quite well. Done 6k since I bought it a year ago and they have worn maybe 30%.

Seems to me that the fronts wear more than the rears, no matter how hard I try. Is this normal??

Why dont you take off the cylinder head cover and have a look. You may see something obvious. Checking the valve clearances is also worth a try diy. Its easy to check them, a bit harder to adjust them, but at least you could easily see if thats the prob. Are you getting overrun rattle from the the V...

Had this on mine and it was the bonnet switch that wasnt being pushed down far enough. Open the bonnet and press the switch fully down whilst pressing lock.

Its been a great day today, thanks to Stewart for arranging it. We met up at Betws at 9.30 - 4 cars - Stewart, Paul, Kevin and me. I had a nice drive before that from Abergele. Scenery was lovely although the weather was COLD! It was a group 'hoods up' decision before we left but I couldnt resist it...

I had the same problem and ended up having to change the lock actuator. It may be that giving it all a good lube will save you that problem. There are two Vanos issues. The original cover bolts were too short . The other Vanos issue is the gear splines wearing causing the growl. Yikes Paul thats a big move :o . They drive on the correct side of the road so thats a plus! The best time to do it is before kids of course. I once thought of a move to USA and often regret not going for it. UK seems to be going downhill to me. Too late for me with teenagers :| Best of luck with it.

Good choice of car - I have a 99 MR too!

I agree that the dealer is the best place to get the missing tools but e bay is worth a try too. I got replacement spanners for a few quid.

My MR has a jack - see pic - so Im not sure if Norwegianblue is right.

Pretty sure I got zapped by a speed camera on the way to the Linc meet today. Van on M180 with rear window down. Over 69 for sure, I was prob doing about 71. My own stupid fault - there were camera signs about :head:

Think it got Hollpe too.

How long have we got to wait?

Spark plugs

Went to the local car spares shop to get some new plugs. Guy phoned his supplier and came back shocked - £12 each!!! E bay have some at £10 each. J*s*s! I have never paid more than £10 for a SET of plugs. Is there a different way :roll:

Yes I was surprised. I thought the tappet noise I was hearing was due to clearances too large. All were small so I assume its valve seat errosion thats to blame. Shims and cams looked s.a.a.p.

The trick with rust is to remove all traces of it before repainting. Strip off the paint and remove the rust. The cheapest way to get your light reset is to buy the reset tool from the States for $134, do the job, then flog it on e bay for £100! Airbag fixed and a small profit, if you have the time!

I didnt see that one on E bay! I have just had a reset tool delivered today. £100 but it gives the fault codes.

Anyone passing Leeds is welcome to call in for a reset job. It only does up to year 2000 cars though.

My daily driver is a Focus and the M stays in the garage until playtime. I make sure it goes out once a week for a spin. Done 4000 miles since May in the M.

What is it with Range Rovers? I had one on Wednesday in Newark on the A46 close up behind me and then off overtaking me and a load of other cars infront. He wasnt bothered at all by a blind bend and several cars coming the other way had to just get out of the way! :shock:
