Hard tops are all the same for every z3 model, wide or narrow body doesnt make a difference.

Haha I'm thinking of renting access to forum members. £100 gets you 1 hour alone with the hardtop in my garage. Privacy is assured. No tongues alowed though.

Thanks for the comments. The inside finish is just black painted and not a good finish at that, so needs some attention at some point.

When driving its noticeable how low the rear window is. Im average height and cant see to the horizon through the mirror.

Its been a long time coming but here she is fitted, and looking good. The colour match is pretty good, as is the fit. The fitting instructions are a bit naff but the parts are all fine and the fitting kits works ok. I got some windscreen sealing adhesive and primer and used that for the rear screen....

SORN'ed mine for the last 5 years but this year its taxed and ready to go. There seem to be plenty of nice winter days for zed-ding and I'm going to make the most of it this year - life is too short.

Hope its ok now. I think its unlikely to be the CAT. They don't do anything at idle, only fast idle when the CAT gets hot enough to do its stuff. Your readings indicate its running rich at idle. That could be the MAF. Its worth check for air leaks in the induction or exhaust too.

Thanks for the comments. Its certainly all about preparation, there is actually not much skill involved in the spraying part. As i said its not perfect. It was a windy day and there are a few bits in the paint. Most are tiny and ok but there is one that is bigger and spoils it. I may try an experime...

I think Alan is talking about the lower steering shaft, not the column. There is a rubber joint within the lower shaft that has some compliance to it. Maybe its that that is moving. I think you would find solid metallic bushes would be very noisy. These would be better for road use:

I figure Hamann havn't made one of these for a while - the serial number is 3000. Thats either the 3000th unit made, or more likely they lost track of the last serial number and have started a new book!

I wasnt expecting the fit to be perfect but it not good really. £2150 plus £160 for postage and its not symetrical :head: The fit around the rear is very good. Time to rub some salt in the wounds then :wink: The hardtop is very light I can fit it single handed no problem. Fit looks pretty good. The front edge is not perfect but premature to be sure since its just resting here under its own weight. How good does this look??? heehee http://i1101.photobucket....

No not at all. Its exciting. Hopefully I can do a trial fit this weekend to check it fits ok.

I need to decide colour now. Options are Actic Silver (as the car), BMW Arctic Grey, or BMW Space Gray. Im not sure what to do. Arctic Grey is most likely as of today.

The fuel pump/sender is quite easy to get to. Its accessed through a panel in the carpet behind the drivers seat. There is a sender here on ebay for ~£20 so DIY option is very easy and cheap.
