Hi Chris, I have a pair of new expanders which came in a job lot of brake bits I bought a while ago. I don't know for sure they are or not BMW parts but they are new. You can have them for £25 + p&p if you would like. Cheers, Tony.

Re: Variable intermittent wipe

My 1986 MG Metro had variable intermittent wipe, via a knob on the wiper stalk. That car was not exactly the latest technology. The engine and suspension was first used in the 1959 Mini. But it seems it was ahead of the game in that respect. The first mini had solid rubber block suspension the flui...

Re: The impossible task of removing wiper arms

First thing to do Mark is to replace the spindle nut and screw it down level with end of the threads on the spindle. Otherwise you may damage the "start" of the thread. Then apply your puller tool and put some fair pressure on it. Next I would go for Gooka's tapping method, and if the does...

The idea is to change the oil when necessary - do not change it too early or too late simply to obey the Service Indicator lights and/or spend money. If the oil is clean, don't bother - your 1500 miles must have been on runs of reasonable length. It will not do any harm to leave it in the engine fo...

I would fix a square of metal plate ( same thickness as original) over the damaged area with Araldite or similar type of adhesive and when set hard drill a hole larger than the screw size and refit the speed nut over the metal (patch) and refit screws through the hole previously drilled. :)
