i must have a heavy right foot. i get 30 - 35mpg from my 1.9 Z3 and as i said, i only got 18 - 20mpg from a 325i. :oops:

i can't comment on the Z4 but i had a 2.5 (325i) and was getting 18-20mpg.

the rear bushes should come off with a bearing puller. be careful with the Eurocarparts rear springs - i have a set and they sit too high ( i think due to the thicker wire) and i am having to replace them with genuine ones to get the ride height correct again. if you replace the springs and find one...

i have recently put on the poly-bushes and it makes a huge difference. the steering feels tighter, more stable and any signs of tram-lining / following any grooves in the road are completely gone. i recommend them.

ok, I tried a quote using my no claims and it came at approx. £150 but I need my NCD on my Impreza so the £211 wasn't so bad on a classic policy. :D

thanks for the info guys, I called RH this morning and got a classic car policy sorted out for £211.90 (3k miles / year for my wife and myself to drive)........happy bunny! :D

get a custom stainless steel one made. it will cost under 1/3 of that price and will never have to be replaced again....and you can specify tailpipes and loudness etc. there are lots of places doing them, I normally go to longlife, they make great systems.
