Re: Plastic types for body panels
Curious how they get on matching the colour. I'm trying to get a colour match on a guards red 88 Porsche - paint technology and environmental regulations have changed a lot in the ensuing 28 years so a match is proving to be elusive so far. My preferred shop's paint supplier is unable/unwilling to ...

Dank u Michael. Actually, I don't have any visible crack in the area of the door button. It's just that the panel stands slightly above the button and I can see that the top mounting of the panel is detached. The most annoying part is that the edge of the panel vibrates on rough English roads and it...

Has anyone used the reinforcements for the front edge of rear wings? The contact area for the adhesive seems very small for a part that is under tension and is subjected to a lot of vibration.

Mine was built in August 1990 but was not registered until April 1991, in Turin, to Eddie Irvine. Perhaps that indicates the increasing difficulty BMW encountered in selling this unique but by no means overpowered car. I wonder how much Eddie paid for it?

Re: Open door policy
The garage has sent the battery back to the manufacturer for testing. They may refund me the cost of the new battery. On the bright side, their initial tests suggested I needed a new alternator (which I thought unlikely, as I could run the car a long way once it was started), and the battery was che...

Logically, since the principal market for these cars is mainland Europe, values denominated in other currencies, e.g. sterling, will tend to decline. On the other hand, for a Euro-zone enthusiast, buying in a Z1 might seem more attractive than other investments, which should stabilise prices. And sp...

My car has been in the UK since 1998. There's never a question about its km/h speedometer and the 'mileage' is always qualified on the MoT certificate as being kilometres. I think you mean Baur for the E30 convertible? See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karosserie_Baur
Of course, you're right. I thought Bertone did the development of the E30 proper cabrio while Bauer did the targa version.
In fact, Bauer developed both.

I think Bertone was involved in engineering the E30 convertible. Perhaps the confusions stems from there. That doesn't explain how the roof has been upgraded. Could this be a reference to the hardtop? I seem to remember that Bertone was involved with that. In which case, it's a pretty odd way to des...

Just a relay click when I turn the ignition key. Battery was replaced two years ago and the trickle charger indicates that it's fully charged. Doors go up and down at the usual speed. No headlights and the fuel gauge shows empty, though the tank is nearly full. All fuses in the big fuse box look OK....
