Would not take any risks with an oil filter. There is a brand name on one of the components in the photo but you need to know the brand and spec of the one you will get. On a similar theme, I've noticed that my driver-side wiper arm rubs very gently against the bonnet lip just above it as it sweeps through it's arc. I haven't been able to get it to sit lower down on the splined drive shaft to clear the bonnet. Any ideas out there?

Your cash/mileage figures do not make much sense, and are prone to innaccuracy - try filling up to the brim, using the tankful, and then refilling to the brim.
