Just go back and really push them. I always find it difficult to believe 'they' didn't know it was losing oil! Are they blind? Demand full repairs at their expense - any respectable stealer will. I'm not sure, however, if second-hand cars are covered under the 'not fit for purpose' section of tradin...

As above, welcome to the forum. If the seller fobs you off, get the cheaper stuff like balancing out of the way and hope it's something simple.

Good to see so many turn up - it was overcast and a bit damp in the air, but a good turn out from the forum. As someone mentioned, they had the different models lining up, so we had a nice row of Z's - it's amazing the variety. No two alike. Nearly every colour except a Phoenix :( Hopefully, RobertT...

[quote="johnn"]She was convinced we will have bad kuck this month. Has the good cook gone on holiday? After the year i've had, i can clear up this thread easily. There are no cures for bad luck and superstitions are simply a desire of, usually, paranoid or insecure people to find something...

Re the cd multichanger (this seems to be my specialist subject at the moment!) :D There is no indication that there is power to the changer - it just won't work. Start by checking if the power connector is plugged in - remove the trim covering the rear of the boot by removing the 6/7 black plastic g...

Robert, For now i've only ordered the trim for the upper and rear of the trunk - one piece - £50 from the dealers. Part number 51478399497 (item 1) I don't expect to have to replace the sides as well having assessed the shapes of the removed and replacement trims, but will post and let you know - ot...

Yeah, the full rear trim has to come off by removing the 6 or 7 plastic 'rivets' - they're a pain (especially if you've only got one good working hand at the moment like me.). Also look out for the boot light. The multichanger bracket then is attached to the car body with 4 10mm bolts. I had a look ...

just having a search around the www and found another site suggesting that the Z2 will have a range of four-pot engines and avoid the straight 6 of old. That would be a rreal shame if it happens. their idea of a entry level Z2 to compete with the MX-5 is great, especially at an entry price of circa ...

Just an update for any future searches. This did not work. The connectors in my '99 Z3 boot were different to those in the '97 5 series. Just took the cd changer out of the boot - along with the rear trim. Does that make the boot bigger, or what!? It's probably only a perceived enlargement ( :colourful: no comments thanks) but i now have to buy a new trim. Question on the CD Multichanger
I currently have an unused 6-disc multichanger in the boot of my '99 2.0 Z3 (having replaced the head unit with mp3). My friend has just bought a '97 528si with a business head, a 'slot' for a 6-disc changer and all the wiring, but the previous owner either took it out or didn't request it at purcha...

A good read that. There's also a link from there to CLARKSON talking about good cars/bad cars. Is it me, or does he have something about BMWs? Apart from the obvious top-end M5 and M6, he says little else nice about the range. So why, then do people continue to crave a beemer? For the badge alone? L...

So, whilst recouperating from my op, was 'surfing' and remembered i was going to replace the chrome tail pipes on my Z. The originals (or rather the ones i bought it with) have discoloured to an off-black!

I suggested that if the deprived children spent more time in school learning the highway code, rather than drinking beer in the park or down at the bookies, maybe they'd stop walking infront of cars. Or, perhaps their parents have told them it's a good way to get an insurance claim, so they can buy ...
