Initially, and in an ideal world (well mine anyway) I agree with you southernboy.
But the reality is some people only want to use or know about Facebook. So if nothing else just think of it as a great big fishing net to try and direct people towards this forum.

Diagnosed as a faulty pump so fitted a second hand unit with the same part number which partially fixed it. Only thing was the traction c...

This is an expensive part brand new, supply and fit a dealer would relieve you of maybe £1,500. I got lucky with a second-hand one off Ebay for £45. But you do need to match the part number carefully. I only used the control module so the pump itself is sitting around and unlikely to be used. If int...

I've also changed only the module. Again, didn't get your symptoms. Just had the light come on. I believe the ABS is disabled when the module fails. It's not impossible it's still the module. I have to start planning what to do with the remains of my 1998 1.9 breaker. From a financial point of view I'm happy to let the engine & box go with the bones of the car for recycling as that way there should be just enough metal left to avoid paying for removal. But it does seem a bit of a was...

There's 2 aspects. Panel alignment. Make sure the gap to the surrounding panels is level all round. This alone is enough to cause a problem. It's not just for neat looks. Fixed part of the catch. Short answer yes. But you won't get a ratchet on one of the hex heads. You need to just put the bit in and turn it with pliers etc as it sits under the arm.kjb1 wrote:so if i get glass etc out i can get to the two nuts which hold the whole housing in place on the door?

I guess it's the road salt washed in with the copious amounts of rain.
That's an interesting idea about the lubricating hole. I'll think about that if I ever unseize the arm from the base. The starlock is dremmelled off and the sleeve bolt is drilled out. Still the arm is stuck.
