If you'e going to get into Z3s to any sort of degree beyond just driving them then finding a reliable & co-operative BMW dealer is in my view pretty much a necessity. I know many people's perception is that BMW is expensive and to be avoided but that's not the case for many parts. You also get t...

Re: Caliper Bolts
I'd probably just get it from a BMW dealer. If it's the caliper to carrier bolt it should be 2 or 3 quid although I think someone on here recently got quoted £6 from his local dealer. If it's the slider bolt with the hex head more like £15-£20.

I'm about to drop the prop to remove the engine/gearbox from my 2.2 project. So I'll have a look at the guibo when I'm in there. The car has a tendency for clunky gearchanges. Mine is at its worst when I'm trying to drive like a granny and at its best when 'pressing on' and changes are quick. If you're unfamiliar with the marque perhaps that's all it is? In a similar vein, the diff whines - at least Torsen diffs do. TADTS (t...

These are all Z3s - but I was beginning to lean towards the Z4 - am I missing some benefits to the Z3 though? Just personal taste. I don't like Z4s. I like Z3s. I have a 3 year old Alhambra. Problems with air box vibrations are a know fault and are very annoying. The official Seat fix is to pack them with foam insulating tape to stop the vibration.

I know it's a noddy question but I'm jiggered if I can find the answer.

Everything else already disconnected and just needed un-mounting of gearbox and exhaust.
Thanks
