Estocks, I have the original screen, is there any point in attempting removal? Maybe with a solvent it will come off without melting the plastic, but bonding it back on withhout any bubbles and with the right refractive index and correct mounting height against curved glass to make the angles work ...

Rain sensors need a set of prisms bonded to the screen at the factory. The sensor detects the refraction through the dry and wet windscreen to detect water.
