...looking at it in situ it is just a simple single belt that drives the compressor - looks easy enough to change, now where have I said that to myself beforec_w wrote:You'd need to remove the viscous fan I'd imagine. Also I'd make a note of the run of the belt as it serves quite a few pulleys I think.

Does anyone find the the resolution on their heater is poor? My heater is really hot when fully clockwise but I only have to turn it about 30' anticlockwise (still mostly in the red area) and it cools off quite dramatically and is only just tepid. The part of the dial anticlockwise from 2 'o clock i...

Yep, certainly works just as described above... Hold the left odometer reset button while turning the key to position 1 (Accessory). Keep holding the button for 5 or so seconds until any of the following shows in the display: OIL SERVICE or INSPECTION with RESET or RE. Release the button and press i...

Ah! a thread I feel qualified to answer! Having lived in North Yorkshire all my life I know all the best roads  If you fancy I can meet up with you in my S54 and we can go for a good blast. You could also have a listen to a few funny noises I'm hearing and tell me what you think? I'd sugges...

On my 3.0 (according to the handbook) DSC is on by default on starting the engine. One press of the DSC button illuminates the button and the DSC indicator on the instrument panel which indicates DSC is off. A second press turns DSC back on and the associated lights off. Yeh, my handbook says the s...

DSC - how many button presses?
I can turn my DSC off on my S54 ///M with one press, but then it takes a further 2 presses to get it back on. I thought I read somewhere that the DSC has two stages of 'off', i.e. completely off and minimal intervention.

Thanks for the link - just what I was looking for. The store locator says the Halfords I went to should have both that and the sport in, but I'm sure they didn't as I looked around all the oil section. I see the sport has essentially replaced the RS 10 60, and it sounds like it might be a slightly h...

What's happened to Castrol RS 10W 60 ??
LOL - After just spent half my life reading through all the oil threads on the forum I decided that Castrol RS 10W 60 was the right stuff to bung in my S54 ///M, but upon a visit to my local Halfrauds it seems this oil is no longer available and has been replaced by Castrol Edge. The problem is they...

Yes it is Imola, my digi cam (as many do) has real problems with reds, especially in bright light. Makes them all look a bit orange. The Imola red/black is actually quite a deep red, almost burgandy - just doesn't look like that in the piccies! I only cut the sodding grass last week as well - think ...

Changing the aircon belt?
Been having a nosey around the engine bay of my S54 ///M and noticed that the aircon belt has some cracking on the inside and probably could do with replacing.
Anybody got or know of a 'how to' for this?

I think with any used car there are always one or two things that you have to sort out before it's perfect - to be expected and not spoiling the car at all which is absolutely fantastic. So far I have answers as follows: 1) Fuel gauge seems to be possessed! When I picked it up it was showing half a ...

Well thank you all for your kind comments! Makes me feel so welcome. Dealer is putting 12 months MOT on it for me and managed to knock £250 off the screen price in the end so got it for £16,750. Thanks so much for the replies - very helpful. I think the most important thing in terms of expediture in the iminent future is the Inspection II service which I'm getting the feeling is somewhat overdue. Black 02 reg Z3M
Hi all, leading on from the thread in the Stock Exchange, I have a few questions regarding this car I went to look at today: 02 reg Z3M - £16995 The salesman has got to be one of the most miserable people you are ever likely to meet but car seems clean enough. A few questions before I part with all ...
