Thought I would open another thread (sort of hijacked one)

I asked a question which was:

Has anyone on here ever organised a charity meet/cruise?

One way of promoting the site! and having an on Mass meet.

I recieved a reply from Alfie:

Yep.

Red Noze Day - Thames Bridges cruises.

The first was a night time affair in Feb 2005 where we picked our way through every crossing of the Thames within and including the M25.

We were all wearing the big red wigs and noses, and dispite it being a very chilly February night, of course we all had to have the rooves down!

Lots of roaring through the tunnels and lots of admiring/ridiculing looks and comments as we crawled along the Strand and other busy West End streets on a Friday night in tight convoy. And the only one to get lost was our resident copper, Rob Bruce...

Some did it for fun and some went to lots of effort to get sponsorship. We raise quite a bit of dosh for Red Nose Day.

The second one was in March 2007 continuing on the same theme where we covered all the bridges over the Thames between the M25 and it's source. A little more subdued than the first effort and didn't make quite so much money, but was nevertheless great fun.

With so many keen new members on this site now, it could well be the time to organise Red Noze 3....

Lets get it going sounds like a good idea?

Thanks Alfie. Looked like a great day. Reckon we could have a Mass meet if we could get some Volunteers, Cars from North,South,East West, Meeting in the middle somewhere?

Good excuse to take the Zed to work and meet on the way home!!!
