Newby Hall - Sunday 7th May 2017

Post by Zed Carer » Fri 04 Nov, 2016 21:54

Just seen HERE that Newby Hall has been confirmed as Sunday 7th May. Last year's attendance of 660 was a record for Newby and hopefully 2017 will be busy as well - so we might have to think about getting there a bit earlier next year!

Didn't make last year as clashed with the Lakes tour. Looks like this date clear so will be going along.

I'm looking at missing out most of the scenic run from Ferrybridge to Wetherby to cut the time down but still use the back road from Wetherby to Boroughbridge as this is just as quick as using the A1(M). To get in well before the public arrive then it would be an earlier start something like this:

Ferrybridge Arr: 07:30 Dep: 08:00
Wetherby Arr: 08:25 Dep: 08:40
Morrisons Arr: 09:00 Dep 09:15
Newby Arr 09:30

May skip ferrybridge also, leave it at Wetherby and Boroughbridge.

Hi guys. Bit of early planning!!

I hope to attend with the missus. Still taking things day to day with the mother in law. She is out of hospital and in a stroke rehab nursing home and making very slow progress.

Hope to show you my new steering wheel which Royal steering wheels are going to recover.

Do either of you know how to get the wheel off? I have just had the slip ring replaced and worried about disturbing it.

My son definitely not coming to Newby, we also can't make the Corbridge Classic in July so it's looking like Lotherton Hall in September is the only one up here for us this year. We are attending ZedFest again at Loughborough in August as last year was a fantastic day out. Hope to see you all at some point in the year.

Unfortunately due to an unforeseen family event - nephew has suddenly decided to come home from NZ for a few weeks we won't be attending Newby this year. We last saw him nearly 18 months ago when we were in NZ and now that he has his residency (basically a 20 year work permit for NZ and OZ) I suspect that he will eventually settle in NZ.
