Kenwood KDC-MP6090R

Post by lurch 1 »

My Kenwood player would not reject disc then after removing head unit I discovered the ribon that carries the signal etc split over 3 strips where the unit hinges at bottom. Question is can it be bridged out with small wires or should it be consigned to the bin? . Many thanks. :(

If you can relace the cable by hand then use a multi stranded wire, not single core wire. It is possible you can by ribbon cable from RS, Farnell or Maplin and just replace the whole thing. Depends how good your soldering skills and iron tips are.

Thanks for reply, went on ebay searched for Kenwood type and up came actual ribbon priced at £9.99. Looks easy enough to fit, will update.
