I cannot understand why this has not sold before now, I know it is summer but it is a good deal Liam. In a couple of months the forum will be full of posts asking where they can get hold of a hardtop fitting kit.

Oh, didn't realise that Hamann hardtop needs (comes with?) a different kit. Well, not that there would be too many Hamann hardtops around available for purchase either... :)

Have you driven one?

They are rubbish, especially the gearbox.

Not sure about them Tim.

Dodgy build quality. And a bigger hairdresser tag than the z3!

There's a company in the UK called extreme engineering who do a full conversion for the smart roadster using a Suzuki Hayabusa 1300 engine (almost 200 bhp standard). The conversion includes reverse gear, upgrading steering, suspension brakes etc, etc. looks a serious bit of kit and not as expensive as I would have thought.

Won't know until I try one, weak door sills seemed to be a problem on earlier cars allowing water in, gearbox was improved and Auto paddles on the Brabus, but in all honesty probably no worse than the Z3 so long as you find a well cared for example. Ideally I would be looking for the Brabus Xclusive which will become very collectable. From what I understand theyre great fun to drive, 0.8, 3cyl turbo, 0-60 around 9 secs but service history essential.

Not sure about the hairdresser tag, theyre quite an aggressive styled car, especially from the rear. I like them and something different and rare on the roads.

Reason I haven't sold upto now is just finding something I want to swap the Zed for and the biggest problem finding something thats in comparable nick. No point changing for something in worse condition with alot higher mileage.

This was mentioned on Facebook the other day, as someone in the States was wanting one - if you put it on ebay, post a link on Facebook, or let me know and I'll post it for you.
