Re: Z3M Roadster FS
...... with a hard top, which by current trends is £1000 with the fitting kit... it's a very good price!!
Re: Z3M Roadster FS
WOW.... Perfect.
AND it's got a RED soft top too...!
Cracking motor.
And good to see the S50 prices are starting to creep up.
With care, the next owner of this car will sell it for more than they paid.

Re: Z3M Roadster FS
We'll if you take away the hard top and fitting kit and it's value, it's a sub 50k Imola S50 for 8500-8750 ish. I'm not sure that represents increasing prices, but it certainly represents a good buy for anyone in the market!Alfie wrote:WOW.... Perfect.

hmmm.
Z3 2.8 Progress Journal (Mine)
Z3 1.9 Sport Progress Journal (Wifey's)
I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Generally, any extras will never realise their true value if sold with the car. If this car was sold without the hard top and kit, I wouldn't expect the asking price to drop by much if anything, certainly not by the resale value of the HT+K.
No harm in bigging-up the market, eh?Alfie wrote:...starting to creep up.

Re: Z3M Roadster FS
hopefully someone from this forum will announce his new aquisition shortly...
Re: Z3M Roadster FS
£9,300 ...........
Wow that is a LOT of money. You could probably pick up a tidy Z4 for the same money.
Are the zeds slowly appreciating or is it exclusively the m sport models that are fetching crazy money?

Re: Z3M Roadster FS
all I can assume with people who think that is a lot of money for an mroadster is that they have never been in one....., or if they have it musnt have been a particularly good example.
epic cars that should be twice that price for such a capable, rare and down right rapid vehicle.!....., not to mention gorgeous.

Re: Z3M Roadster FS
...... I reckon any really good Z3 will fetch a good price....No doubt some models may be more "desirable" than others and may be more in demand. The "Sport" and "Individual" models are possibly 2nd in line behind the M cars, with the others in 3rd place. This doesn't mean that the 3rd place cars need to remain in 3rd place... they can be tastefully upgraded to become as desirable as any of the other two options. Many of the OEM interiors were considered "cool" when they were originally chosen. In my opinion some did very little to enhance the concept of an open top roadster. They are bland and boring and more suitable to sedans. Most people here will readily agree that the OEM 17" wheels were largely "ho-hum"... and have opted for more stylish choices in appearance and size. The choices of BMW wheels allows for an OEM wheel interchange without losing the originality of the maker. I strongly believe that with some imagination and investment, the "average" Z3 can be transformed into a highly attractive rag top...
As an example of my 1st Z3 a '97 2.8 with no options when I bought it... and I mean absolutely zero optional extras...
From here.....a "nice" car
To here....a "roadster"....

Re: Z3M Roadster FS
^^^Tasteful mods indeed, Southernboy. That car looks a hundred times better than it did originally.
But... I believe that as these cars get older, and therefore nearer 'classic car' status, 'originality' will be more important than looks to the potential buyer.
As we've seen with some of the rarer cars for sale on here recently, any mods, no matter how expensive or tasteful, are considered to be a negative point to the buyer, at least in the UK anyway. Buyers are looking for the phrase: 'unmolested' or similar.
Jay spent many £££thousands on his stunning Phoenix S54, adding BMW approved Hamann and Schnitzer body kit, custom built exhaust system, custom built ICE system, and many other expensive and tasteful upgrades, but he ended up (in my view) virtually giving it away on eBay.
As for RED... all the mods I've done (or will get round to doing sometime) are easily reversible, and I always keep any parts that I swap out so that the car can be returned to 'original' when she finally ends up in a museum in 50 years time...!
Cheers.

Re: Z3M Roadster FS
.... well said...and I agree with the "museum" piece... and for that one should have a 2nd Z3... which can be stored for the next 20 years in OEM condition...
