Bought, close the tread pls (z3m side mirrors)

Post by pinkpiggy »

Hello guys,
I would like to buy Z3M side mirrors (LHD). Offer me please in here or via PM with your price. I am from Czech republic, i can drive for them in some areas of Germany/Austria/Poland. Otherwise i would be lucky if you could send them via post somehow (carefully packed :D).

As well as Z3M side mirrors i am looking for side grills as well. Same "terms", but mainly i am looking for the mirrors. So if there would be some "mirrors + grills" at-once-offer i would take both of it.

Thank you veru much.

The interior mirror can be used from any M car. You can just use the internal electronics from your OEM mirror so that your central locking will work. Even the "automatic darkening mirrors can be fitted if you provide power for it to work. They are the same shape / size as the Z3 M interior mirror,

LINK..... Needs a new mirror glass, but you can have one cut at any mirror glass supplier...

I think OP is looking for side mirrors, not rear view mirror.

I have mirrors and gills, but I am in process of buying another z3, so probably I will use them myself for that z3.

There is a shop in Germany that is called zettiworld where you can still get brand new mirror and vents. I had a set of mirrors from him a while back (they have doubled in price now) and the service was fantastic. I also had a set of facelift clear rear lights and both items came within 3 days from Germany to England. Other than this, you can keep scanning ebay and the web but both items do not come up that often.

I believe the door mirrors are different for RHD and LHD.

Side gills will be the same.

@g8jka
yep i know both items do not come up that often together :)
but i saw sometime on this forum there are mirrors for sale, therefore i posted this thread cause i really love that circular mirrors :)
honestly, 640Euro is too much for mirrors i think.. And how i saw, they are selling used in here for around 250-350Euro. Thats fair price i think for me. I can get brand new from my friend that is original importer of bmw parts into czech republic, but even like that it will cost "nonsence".

That vents are for much better price i think, and the difference between new ones and used isnt as big. So if there will be problem with searching used, i will buy new ones, thats not problem.

Priority for me are that side mirrors

@gaza
thats an interesting point. Why do you think they are different for RHD and LHD? I would guess they are the same..
For me i guess there is a difference between LHD and RHD in the glass mirror. Cause the passenger mirror glass needs to be convex. So probably the "container" is the same and they are different just in the glass (and you can swap the glass i guess, atleast they are selling it on ebay)

The difference is in the base which the mirror fits to. The angles on the bases are made so that the mirror adjustments from the driver's perspective can be made and allow for complete rearward view from both mirrors.
If you find a set of RHD mirrors and your car is LHD, then you can use the bases from your OEM mirrors to fit to the RHD mirrors to make them suitable for LHD, and the opposite for LHD mirrors to convert to RHD car.

Yes you are correct about the price between new and used vents, there is not much difference and the price of them mirrors in pretty outrageous and you still need to factor in the cost of spraying. I just thought I'd give you the option as you posted a thread saying you WTB and these items don't come up very often at all and when they do they get snapped up quickly. As mentioned as well there is a difference between RHD and LHD mirrors but they can be altered to suit if you get the wrong ones.

I have a spare set of RHD bases - in case if you need them, I can sell them. Maybe 20 GBP + shipping from Latvia sounds reasonable?

As I explained the difference between LHD and RHD is only in the bases,,, The base is the part which is screwed to the door.... so, again if you have an RHD car and buy a set of LHD mirrors, use the bases from your current RHD mirrors on the LHD mirrors and they will fit and work perfectly / or the opposite if you have an LHD car and buy a set of RHD mirrors, use the OEM bases to make them fit :head:

Saw a set on eBay from Poland...Eu. 450 ... appears as if the one internal arm alloy is broken looking at the pics...But that can be welded... The seller has added "make an offer"... but personally I think the price is OTT.

Yea, saw them too, but that cracked one seemed to be damaged too much and from pics it is hard to say.. :/ if it was right side mirror, i would buy another in here in czech (i know about one for sale), but it seems that all damaged mirrors are left ones :D

The alloy arm inside the mirror is the same on M and non M mirrors. That means you can replace the broken alloy section inside by using a part from an "ordinary" Z3 mirror. The only actual difference from M to ordinary is the plastic outer covers.
In the picture of those M mirrors from Poland, it is the left mirror which has the problem.

Actualy i heard something about risky "repairs" and risky "base swapping" that you can destroy that mirror completely. I am not sure and I dont know, but i am not the right person to do that i guess :D

Bullshit. I had disassembled standard and m mirrors (still have m mirrors disassembled in a box) and there is no way you can destroy them by accident. I think the internal parts were the same for m and standard mirror, only they were assembled in different order.

UP

(i offered to that guy on ebay with that one broken mirror, it was accepted, but someone used buy it now probably, because they are gone).. I think 450Euro was too much for them when one was broken (you can find for $300-350 "often" - when they are for sale :D)
So, still looking for.
