2003(03) BMW Z3 3.0i M54 Sports Roadster

Post by Grandadg90 »

Morning all, unfortunately my beloved purchase has ended in a disaster. Struggling to store the car and the other half is wanting her space back and I don’t want to park the car outside. Having looked at storage, I can find a place which is a family friend but he is 5 miles away. This just spoils the experience, therefore with a heavy heart, she has to go.
It took me quite a while to find her, and she is little beauty.

2003(22nd May 03) 3.0L M54(231BHP) Genuine Sport model roadster in Sapphire Black(475), with red/black sports interior.
Car registration is SH03 OWB
Current mileage 62,828 miles, will rise as being used daily.

I have printed all the options the car came with, so it has the usual sports spec. Chrome interior pack, sports seats(heated seats), M Sports suspension, M Sport steering wheel, LSD and 17” Sports LA Alloys. Also has standard spec such as electric roof, OBC etc…
Optional upgrades, wind deflector and AC Schnitzer Aluminium pedals.

With a view to keep her I had some new front pads fitted , and had an Inspection 1 carried out at BMW yesterday and they also did a health check. I have a video link of their findings, potential buyers I will give access to. They reported that:-
• The rear tyres were at 3mm.
• Brake fluid needs replacing, which they carried out and stamped the book
• Front wipers were ineffective
• Clutch pedal has a slight squeak
• Coolant will need replacing soon (this can be negotiated in a deal)
• One side light bulb out, which they replaced
The car drives really well, all of the servicing has been at the BMW dealership. I have the original bill of sale.

Handling it sublime, really love it. It gets into the corners really well and is sure footed when exiting. Brakes are spot on, fluid was changed so no worries there, but also the front brake pads I have replaced with Brembo pads, which are quite impressive.

-Bodywork, some minor scratches reported by BMW, but they are the sort that can be buffed/polished out.
-Hood, operates really well, the rear screen has a line running across it where it has folded. Not sure if this can be remedied. Black roof has some shiney elements on it, but no tears or marks.
-Wheels/Tyres, front tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport remaining tyre depth 4-5mm.
-Interior – dash and door cards are excellent. Passenger seat has no wear, drivers seat has some slight wear on the right hand side upper bolster(pictured). Interior colour combo is superb.

You have a lovely car and you are asking a good price for it, remove the details about the small item you are about to do to the car or will sort before the sale, it detracts from the advert, you have an 03 plate z3 3.0, this must be one of the last to be registered on the road, GLWTS. Do I see a heated rear window switch in one of the photos? Have you got a hardtop fitting kit fitted?

It's a lovely car. And £8k isn't too far off at all what I think someone would pay for a private sale but the mileage might be a tad high to hit the full amount. I love the interior, it goes really well with the black bodywork.

The magic mark for a BMW dealer is usually up to 60k miles although there are plenty in excess of this currently in the network including a 3 yr old 1er with 198k miles they want £13.5k for!! But given recent events with the £17k Sytner 3.0 you might, just might at 63k miles get interest off a dealer not too far south of that price if you wanted to go down that route. I shouldn't really encourage the dealers but you might want a quick, clean sale.

Brian, spotted. Eagle eye member. Yes it has a heated screen button. Not sure if it has the hard top fitting kit, will investigate this.

Mrscalex, thanks for the advise on price. I'm flexible on price however to a forum member, I would prefer for her to go to a forum member who can cherish her and most importantly enjoy her. She is a beauty.

I have now advertised her on Pistonheads and Carand classic.

Someone on pistonheads is using all of your details in this advert to try and scam buyers, I suggest you report it somehow.

Thanks for that Rob.

The ad had a similar number to mine but had a email address attached to the advert.

These days you just don't know who will/can hack your account. Makes you question how they do it. He must have been using my account.

I will wait to hear back from Pistonheads, see what their response is.

Well she has gone, picked up by new buyer yesterday. She will be missed, a short love affair. Has left me with the feeling that once I can create space I will buy another.

Lovely lovely little sports car.

It will be well looked after Rahail. Went out for a blast in it this morning to my parents, the warning lights have now gone off which makes me think it's related to the new pads bedding in.

If your ever in the area then give me a shout as we can always pop out for a drink somewhere.

Glad that's happened, the dealership would have picked up on it with health check if there was an issue.

Glad you love her and I'm sure you will enjoy her and care for her. If I'm in the area I will give you a shout, would be good to see the old girl. Take care, all the best Rob.
