Eibach Sportline springs
The transplant from OEM to Eibach Sportline springs started yesterday at around 4pm (CAT). The two front struts with the springs were removed before he called it a day. Arranged to meet at his workshop at 09.00 today, and managed to get there at 9.15. When I walked in my car was off the hoist and outside, and in it's place was a 330 with a race damaged right rear arm.
To my delight, he tossed me the keys, and said job's done!! He had come in at 07.00 and completed the swap...
He warned me to wear a kidney belt and a gum guard...but having driven about 50kms since collecting it, including over some rough roads and a few speed inhibiting humps...it's a breeze!!
After his comments, I was expecting a really hard ride, but happily it's almost as "soft" as it was with the OEM's. One of the most noticeable differences is the lack of "sag" in the butt when pulling away and on gear changes. That "butt dip" was always a bit like driving a bigger "family" car. Now, it has a little "nod" and squats firmly. The 30mm drop gives the "look" a more aggressive stance with the rear tyre top still claerly visible in the arch, and the fronts have sufficient clearance not to "touch" even when going over the speed bumps.
All in all I'm very pleased with the ride, and the subtle "flatter" feel when cornering, as a result of the reduced roll.
A well worthwhile driving investment and modification...IMHO.

Re: Eibach Sportline springs
I have a st of OEM springs in the garage...
Must add, apart from the springs, I bought all the OEM pads - top/ bottom /front / rear plus all the bits and pieces and replaced the whole lot while I had the chance doing the transplant.
Also, the cost of the Eibachs will be considerably cheaper than I had to fork out with shipping. duties etc.
But it is worth it. Just don't also fit any harder shocks or you will need a kidney belt and a gum guard...

Re: Eibach Sportline springs
Went for the standard OEM pads as per original fitting. I figured it might be best in the event I want to reverse the process. I looked up the part numbers on Real OEM, and simply ordered those.
Had a builder here today to concrete a more gentle incline off the road into my drive. Even before the drop, it used to catch the exhaust if I was in too much of a hurry...now my drive extends about 2 feet into the street... ...and about 3' 6" in total before it crests, and down the drive. Unfortunately I live in a fairly hilly area, and the drive drops down from the street considerably, so, before it was rear wheels on the street, fronts on the drive, and the paving catching the middle underneath. Now the rears will be lifting up just in time to raise the car as I go over.

Re: Eibach Sportline springs
Hi Hunter
You may have to...there are pads - rubber - top and bottom of all 4 springs. They provide a cushion between the metal of the springs and their seats. The ones you have there may be still in good condition, in which case don't replace them. I replaced them since the ones that were there, had been installed at the time the car was built - 1998. I figured I might as well re-condition all the parts whilst I had the suspension out. The top of the fronts - with the 3 bolts that come through - has a bearing as part of it's construction..I replaced those as well, which was just as well as the "old" ones were a tad floppy.
I just tend to replace parts with new when the likelyhood of that component being accessed again in the next 10 years is probably zero, and that it has ever been replaced since original build.
