Spring split

Post by samytee »

So after polishing the hell out of car I noticed the n/s looked a little low.. So decided to whip the front o/s wheel off only to discover coil spring s snapped in two places!!
So after finding a reasonable priced coil to replace it, I was asked if the car had factory fitted sport springs.
How would I no/find this out?? Mines a 99 2.8 manual.
Any suggestions would be welcome!

Pop your VIN into the site below, it will give you your car build data, sport spring were also known as m-sport suspension. I suspect you have standard springs but best to check.

Looks like the right one for your car. I haven't heard of that brand before and the price is a typical "budget brand" price. The prices at the following are competitive and give you some idea of good brand prices

Sorry to have to edit your post above, but please can you avoid using shortened URLs if at all possible. There is no way to tell where they will lead until you click on them. I used longurl.org to expand your link. I will substitute any more that I see, but if you can avoid using them, it would be appreciated.

Thanks R.

So spring fitted after 3hrs of DIY. Might seem a long time to some but it's first time I've done anything mechanical. Took for test drive and handles loads better!
The old spring split bang in middle so I now have 2 lowering springs (jokin) free to a good home!
So £33 for a spring n 3hrs of my time = healthy wallet
