Help!!! Transverse acceleration sensor.

Post by webby »

Hi folks. Any one know where I can get a transverse acceleration sensor from. And how much? It's the one under the drivers seat.

Hi Webby,

You can try your local BMW parts dept or there is a couple of online retailers that you could try.

www.bmmimiparts.com

www.cooper-bmw-parts.co.uk

The part is under the passenger seat, the BMW TIS docs are based on us cars.

With the seat out it is easier to remove the plastic trim panel that runs parallel with the sill, this will allow the carpet to be lifted, the sensor is located just under the front section of carpet under a triangular black plastic cover.

All done. :)

The fault was my dsc light came on and after spending £50 on diagnostic. It came up that the transverse acceleration sensor.

Looked Like there was water damage on sensor. ( any ideas where that came in. Couldn't see. Where?).
Oh in case anyone else does this. The sensor is under passenger seat NOT drivers. All diagrams I looked at were left hand drive.
