Michael Jackson RIP

Post by Gazza »

I'd like to pay tribute to MJ for everything he gave to pop music in the years I have been around, and just like Marc Bolan, Freddie Mercury, Phil Lynott, Stuart Adamson & YES even bloody Elvis they will all be sadly missed and never to be replaced.

RIP Michael Jackson

Ditto that - he was still brilliant and nobody would turn out normal living a life like his.

Glad I got to see him about 12 years ago in South Africa.

And Farrah Fawcett's death quickly becomes obscured by this.
How inconsiderate of Mr Jackson

In all seriousness I have respect for Michael Jacksons work & especially during the period when he produced by Quincy Jones. In time we shall see the fate of his dependant children who I genuinely feel sorry for at this awkward time.

Farrah Fawcett another loss to a tragic illness - A shame with so much money wasted on crap that modern society hasn't conquered this yet.

all the people who bid up bid ££££ for tickets way above the asking price on ebay lately and paid ,they will be quite pissed off id say

overall a great artist ,

Mentioning Quincy Jones...
His latest work is a collaboration between him, Snoop Dog and......
Buzz Aldrin.

I think the part where Gary states:

would be clear enough for most people, and not cause confusion.

Back on topic, it is a shock. This guy was a pure entertainer despite an unorthodox upbringing, and did well despite all the negative comments thrown at him on a daily basis.

RIP.

This thread is a Tribute thread which is why I suggested you start your own.

I like MJ's music, 'Fanboy' would be an over statement.

Cant help but agree. Was nice listening to some of the older tunes on the radio today though.

It is definitely the end of an era. Some things we can be sure of. He was a great singer/writer/performer. Who knows whether the other speculation was true or not..............

I've been a fan of Michael Jackson for as long as I can remember and in my teens I went to watch him in his Bad concert at Wembley. That concert was amazing, his performance was outstanding and has never been matched and never will be.

I'm also one of the million who paid £75 a ticket to see him in August at the O2 Arena, along with my teenage sons. To say I'm sad would be an understatement, and thats not because I stand to loose my money but the fact that I'm not going to be able to share that amazing experience I had watching him all those years back with my boys.

His music will live on for ever!
RIP Michael

Despite numerous allegations over the recent years about his private life - I am very sad to see the passing away of one of the giants of the music scene ever and probably the biggest star of our (or mine at least) generation. His music and dancing ability inspired many people and brought joy to all.

RIP MJ

Not the greatest of fans of his music, but clearly a big personality and influance in the music industry.

Hope it will not be a mass hysteria type thing like with Diane ...

This is a tribute thread and no adverse comments will be allowed here so make them elsewhere. I'm moderating this accordingly.

Very sad but I had a feeling somehow he wouldn't be able to pull off his new round of live performances, I guess the pressure was too much.

Funny I remember him more for his fantastic videos than the music itself and for that it would have been a poorer world without his artistry. Music wise it would have to be the Jackson 5, right time and mood for the 70's. I loved my Raleigh Chopper too

I didn't hear about MJ's death until this morning on the radio, I was stunned.

Every radio station in my area were playing his music all day, I drove to and from work today with his music playing and felt it was the right thing to do. Celebrate his music - celebrate him as an entertainer.

We will never know his private life and why should we. Who are we to make assumptions and accuse, what do we really know?

He will physically be missed by those that he was close to, his music will live on forever.

Sad news. RIP, Michael.

The first album I ever owned was Bad. My father bought it for me and I remember fondly being driven around in his e30 with the cassette playing. I have a lot of good memories from my childhood that certain songs of his bring back clear as day.

As a singer/writer/performing artist he is irreplaceable.

RIP MJ, his music and talent will sadly be missed...

He pretty much invented the music pop video along with the tunes of a generation and another generation to come.

Its a pity some are so keen to give a kicking at such a time....

OK I think the Book of Condolences can be closed now.

Thanks to all who participated.

As a car forum, should anyone wish to extend the MJ debate, then please feel free to do so, but on more appropriate fora.

Thank you.
