Our local area BMW group (Yorks & Humber) now has its own Facebook page with announcements about all the stuff thats happening on our patch.
You are more than welcome to join the group, membership is not required.

There already are several Z groups that quite a few people here are members of.
They're pretty quiet activity-wise and to be honest, it just adds another layer of unnecessary sites to check for anything IMO

That's not the idea of my page - The facebook plan is to use it as a platform to announce pub nights -meetings - trackdays.. all the usual stuff... but instead of you having to log on to look at the forums or check your emails for updates the facebook thing simply sends the info as a text message to everyones mobile.

It's early days yet but it seems to be working so far - the more folk that join the 'group' the better.. and you don't have to become a facebook sad case either - just set up your basic account, join the group, enable SMS and you never have to visit facebook again if you don't want.
