As I was in the Silverstone area for the BMW show at Santa Pod last weekend I took the opportunity to go and have a look at one of the Ferrari Racing Days at Silverstone on the Saturday. It really was a fantastic day out for petrolheads and I would recommend that you go along to one yourself if you get the chance. The day culminated in a world record attempt for a parade of Ferraris - almost 1000 took part (964 to be exact) and will probably get an entry in the next Guiness Book of Records. Here's some pics of the day:
Star spotting #1 The lovely VBH!
Star spotting #2 Massa (going slowly )
Interesting number plates:
BEEFY (Ian Botham maybe?)
BAILEY
ALONSO
HEDGEHOG?!
Petrolhead exotica:
You'd think that you'd try to be more careful if you owned one of these beauties...
Even Ferrari drivers put questionable wheels on their p&j
Taxi meter or lap timer?!
Ferrari had their f1 clienti programme running so there were a few older F1 cars on display and on track for those with enough disposable income to spare...
There was also a full qualifying and racing programme to watch...
...and the day culminated in the most spectacular parade. It took almost 20 minutes for the 3-a-breast parade of cars to go past the start/finish straight
Kinda reminded me of zedfest a couple of months and got me wondering whether we could do something like this with the BMW marques...
