ZRoadster.net 2013 Calendar - your forum needs YOU!

Post by Robert T »

Well, the elves and Xmas trees are in the shops, so it must be that time of year again... yes, indeed, time for me to ask for your photos for the annual ZRoadster.net Calendar.

We will again be offering a professionally printed and bound A3 calendar created using your photos. The calendar will be priced to cover the costs of printing plus small donation to go towards covering the hosting costs for the site.

As a reminder, here are a couple of the pages from last year's calendar.

Image

Image

In order to qualify for entry, all photos must be either your own pictures or you must obtain permission from the person that took them. They must be in LANDSCAPE format (HORIZONTAL orientation) and have an unedited original available which is a minimum of 5 (five) megapixels (about 2700x1900 pixels). Sticking to this will ensure that we can once again maintain the quality of the calendar.

As always, we are looking for photographs of ALL zeds (Z1, Z3, Z4 and Z8 inclusive) to put into the calendar. We have seen some really great photos posted up throughout the year, so please enter them for the calendar. For those of you who have been hiding your pics, please do consider entering, as we like to include a variety of shots. I would like to ask you to post just your best ones in this thread for consideration for the calendar. As the government still hasn't added any more months to the year, sadly we only pick 12. There is no set theme, so feel free to submit a mix of photos of single cars, groups of cars, abstracts and detail shots, meets, or just plain spectacular settings for zeds to be seen in - the only mandatory element is that the pictures must be zed related.

Please post your entries in this thread, resized to around 800x600, for us all to see. Assuming your entry is selected, I will ask for the original image later (this is important as I really cannot make a calendar from cropped/resized photos). If you post an image which you do not own the copyright, then please contact the owner of the copyright and find out whether it will be possible to use it in the calendar - if you need assistance in this, then please let me know.

The closing date for entries is Saturday 1st December 2011.

Can't wait to see all your pictures and I will update this thread with more information as we go along. Ordering details will be posted in a separate thread when we get nearer publication.

I can hear the postman groaning already. :D

Thanks R.

Thanks Robert. I guess you get fed up with pointing people to that thread. Presumably I could use Picassa'a web album also?

Yes, you can use any photo sharing service that allows you to link directly to images you have uploaded to it.

I don't get fed up, just wondering what more I can do so that people see that thread - I've made it a sticky on every forum - does it need a 3ft high neon sign as well.

Pics all look fine, Gill. The clipping is down to the poster details on the right overlapping the picture. I still don't have a fix for that, but rest assured, they look great.

Some great pictures so far. Looks like it should be a good year. It's still not too late to submit your photos, so please do keep them coming.

A word regarding the professional photos - I will need permission from the photographer to use any of these - it is not usually too hard to get as we have a limited print run, so please do start checking now, as in the past this have often taken a while to do and has at least once taken past my printing deadline and meant I have had to go with other images.

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Just a quick update on where we are with the calendar. I am still waiting on permission to use one of the images, but otherwise have everything I need. Artwork is almost complete and should be finished later today. I will put up an order thread hopefully later this week after we have done our exact costings. It does look good on the screen and I have managed to get a good selection of cars in there, so there should be something for everybody (Z1s, Z3s and Z4s, ///Ms).
