Hi Folks
Whilst I've never been a prolific poster on this forum I have taken an active interest in the activities of all its members especially when meeting up at shows etc. Many thanks to eveyone who has supported me over the years especially RobertT.
Sadly the Z3 has been replaced with a Z4.... a 2007 2.0i with just 15000miles on the clock.
Look out for a host of Z3 bits that the dealers didn't want when I traded in the Z3.
The Z4
Cheers

Won't the dealer take your z4 in part-ex vs your old z3?

The new one looks lovely, the colour really makes it. What are your thoughts so far compared with the Z3, driving and power wise?

Re: Z3 to Z4
Ditto...I'd like to hear the observations too.
Re: Z3 to Z4
I'm pleased with the Z4. It feels much more solid than the Z3 and has the luxury of a proper glass screen (heated) in the hood. The hood itself is fully automatic - I don't even have to unclip the top bar. The exhaust note is much more pleasing and the 6th gear makes for relaxed driving at motorway speeds. I'm getting 33mpg around town compared to 26mpg from the Z3.
On the downside - yes ALL cars have a downside.......... By doing some homework (forum sites) I've noticed that the Z4 2.0i does have some issues. The emissions light appears to be quiet sensitive - cured on mine by giving a blast down the motorway (the car only had 15000miles on the clock - used as a shopping car?). Some owners have complained of cracked exhaust manifolds. Air bag lights and cracked rear springs have also been an issue on this car - but not mine, hopefully!
