Amazing places production lines. It always amazes me how the right colour doors and correct engine for the order all meet up at the correct time as all the different processes take differing times. Just spent some time at the Landrover Production line.

Interesting video - I was surprised that they lowered the body onto what looked like a complete drivetrain including brake discs and callipers!

All lines work the same even ones's with a full chassis there are two lines one for the body and one for the running gear and part way down the line they meet, the body comes down from above and is mated to the body. The body is usually complete except for the trim, lights and doors.

The trim bumpers etc are made off site by another supplier and are complete with paint and arrive at the line at the right time for when the rest of the body gets there. Must be a very intense ordering system (KanBan) to get it all flowing.
