28 Apr 07: The Leicestershire Lunge
28 Apr 07: The Leicestershire Lunge
In honour of a traffic manoeuvre that seems very popular in Leicestershire (waiting till you're almost on top of someone coming out of a side road before they shove out in front of you, and then crawling along!) I have decreed Saturday 28 April to be Lunge day, when you can come along and see this peculiar behaviour for yourselves.
The cruise will start at 10AM sharp from the services on the motorway between J21 and J21A (subject to confirmation) and will end at about 6PM, ironically, in the same place!
So, who's up for this?
Confirmed attendees:
Spokey
pingu
whiteminks
calbens
tetchmeister
Deano1712
Interested:
Giles
bigfut
hornie
Roadmonster
Zmeagol
dario
alfie

do you actually like driving at all or are cars to you just a manifestation of some sort of pathological mother complex ?
I'll advise on the starting position later, but it will be in that sort of area.pingu wrote:I'm interested. Will it be northbound or southbound start?

Oh go on -- it will be much quicker than a PH event, because you don't have to worry about all those TVRs falling off the road.hornie wrote:hiya - not sure if we can make this one. Detailer is always in the boot tidy with a generous supply of cloths
All Hail Meguiars.
PS Pete said he saw you the other day, racing along the '15, "topless", you wouldn't have seen him tho' unless you'd looked up. (He was in his megaspace)

I did see a lorry flash me a couple ?of days ago or even yesterday? on the A15. I wasn't quite sure why, as some are kind enough to warn girlie in sports car if there is a speed trap a bit further on.
It must have been Pete I guess he must have known it was me with the mad red hair and the lead boot
Hopefully see you soon at Leicester !

That's not a very nice thing to hear....Bloke wrote:Unfortunately ill be away on this weekend with Mrs Bloke
Especially from a newly-wed.
Hope you get over that cold soon.Bloke wrote:....celebrating by birthday
Rich doesn't come here very often these days, so I can't possibly miss an opportunity to have a jest at his expense....
Anyway, Spokey, please put us down on the interested list for this. We're at a party that night, so can't hang around afterwards, but daytime should be ok. Hopefully will confirm later.
Rich, you'll be missed.

Hi All,
Well what a wonderful day we all had in lovely Leicestershire
Spokey found some wonderful country roads and lovely pubs and eatery!
It was great to meet some more new faces and spend time with some smashing company
I even got a chance to drive behind the Spokesmeister later in the day
Thanks again Spokey for all your marvellous 'host with the most' organiser extraordinaire input!
I thought I'd try to be first to post so you'd know I managed to find my way home!
Thanks to Mark for directing me to the junction I needed off the M1
Cheers Px
