Sep 12 (Sun): Guards Polo Club, Windsor

Post by TonyCal »

The South East Road-show goes on tour again, to an event we went to last year and thoroughly enjoyed. Join us and Wessex region in a bring and display event. Best of all its FREE to come along. The Venue is The Guards Polo Club, Windsor Great Park, Windsor. Last year we had a very large area all to ourselves right next to the polo field. There has been a suggestion that I should run another Z Show and Shine at this event.
Either way come along and enjoy the day, which last year the sun stayed out all day.

Pictures of the event last year can be seen on my website by following the Polo Club link.

I look forward to seeing a lot more Z's there this year.

Tony, it just happens that I'm down in that area on Sunday - ready for a meeting first thing on Monday  .

Do you need any more cars? Let me know if you do as I could make a whole day of it. :D

Of course you are welcome Neil. There is a £2 per person charge but cars are free, for that you get a nice yellow badge which gets you into the main polo club area if you are inclined to go in that bit :D
Thats 3 Z's coming could do with a few more.

Tony, I'll probably come to this. It's just a toodle up the M3 for me. See you there. Though if it's like the Ferndown meet I'll see you but not know which one of the 400 people there was you :?
You need to wear a larger 'I am Tony Cal' badge I mean look at Muffles 'Latest pics of the car' thread to see I do

Hi Tony.

Can you give us an update about what's going on, start times, etc.?

Do you have to be a Zregister member to join in?

Cheers!

Its open to anyone as far as i know, Although it is a club organised event, you are entitled to " try before you buy" I think the display starts around 10am and the polo just after lunch. I expect I will be there a good while earlier than that.
Tickets can be sorted on the day. I believe a dealer is bringing some cars again this year, for us to crawl over. Unfortunately no test drives though.
Its just a fun day out really. And if you know whats going on out on the polo field then thats a bonus :D

At Gaydon I was wearing a Badge that said Tony Cal on it as well as my south east committee members badge and south east region hat. I did however spend most of my time in the Concours arena crawling under the cars.

Any BMWS are welcome not just Z'ds
And yes you do get to watch the polo with ringside seats, and you also get to wander on the pitch at half time and stomp the divits the horses make :D

Just wish I could work out the rules there does not seem to be any :D

Hi Tony,

Good to see you use the photo (despite the comments you send in PM  )
Would love to be their but I am not in the area.....
Bring back in my mind that Wendy and need to plan a round trip next year to the UK and go to one of the meeting. Also makes me think of planning a meeting over here in The Netherlands next year. Perhaps combining it with a trip to Belgium.... Whole winter in front of the fire place with whiskey and cigar to make plans...

Tony,

Will sure try to make it to the lakes next year.
Plan to make trip all the way up to Dingwall (way up north) to bring back some old memories and would be perfect to combine it all together.

Well another sucessful event, with a good Z turn out. Thanks to everyone who attended, Sorry I forgot to mention the lunch arrangements or lack of, in fact the caravan/stall I pointed out to Alfie was a burger stall, but was over the other side of the pitch.
It was good to see some old faces as well as the new ones.
Here are a couple of pictures of the Z lineup.
