Enter the Dragon........... Wales Run.
Just "throwing this out there". Would love to organise a meet/run maybe in March/April time next year 2009.
Read up a few of the organise posts and reviews etc...etc.. And reckon I can give it a gooooood go.
Idea is..... Meet at Magor services, 1st junction after the "new" Severn Bridge..... On to Usk village up to Abergavenny, (huge gathering of motorbikes, every Sunday in Aber, imagine 20 to 30 zeds turning up in convoy ) have a stop off for a coffee then off through Crickhowell and up to Brecon.
Down then to Cardiff bay and on towards Newport via the old coast road. Finishing up at a pub near Llandegfedd reservoir, for an evening snack.

Definitely interested. We need to schedule in a pit stop at the Ponderosa and lap of the Evo triangle.

do you actually like driving at all or are cars to you just a manifestation of some sort of pathological mother complex ?
Yep just a Sunday. 9.45am Start, with a bacon roll & coffee break at 11.30am-ish, and another drink around 2pm. Late lunch at around 4pm. All done and dusted by 6pm.
Some real twisty stuff between Caerleon and Abergavenny. Brecon's scenery is stunning and offers beautiful sweeping bends.
Finishing point/meal venue is only 15mins from M4.
Route is basically a big loop.

welsh meet
Sounds great to me, put me down, i drive the crickhowell road in the summer, its superb.
I'm up for that.
Just watch on a Sunday if the weather is nice for the police and unmarked cars will be out in force in those areas after the bikers.
Those roads are cracking though, especially the Caerleon to Usk road...one of my favourites but SLOW DOWN by Llangibby. It goes down to a 30mph and the police hide by the white hart pub...they gets loads there...I was had a few months back while on a "spirited ride" to the karting track.
Now that could be another idea.....the zroadster karting challenge could be incorporated into the day

That's Easter ... the roads will be a nightmare.LEX77 wrote:just giving everyone a reminder..... possibly the second Sunday in April

live in usk so awsome
from my experiance i would meet at magor -- go to langstone over the top to wentwood and down into usk that way... awsome photo stops along the way --- would b much sweeter and much more scenic .... the rest is game on mind ---- top of blaenavon could b a nice spot 2
like i said i live in usk and the owner of the white hart in llangibby is a old school m8 - would b good to bring the noise the z to the sleepy town.
im sure he would put something on 4 us if we get enough interest...
cant wait so put me down as definately ---- just need to know the date---
ill get my other m8 along 2 ...

It's Wales dear boy, we've only just discovered cars .... there won't be a problem on these routes.... any time of year. Getting to Magor services, via the motorway could be though
Tell everyone you know,... "the bunny is dead, and easter is cancelled!"

April is possibly not going to happen for me
Not that weekend anyway. My wife finds time to tell me TODAY... that I am actually in Alton Towers that weekend with our kids and the whole of her family......oh joy.
Can change the date if everyone is still up for it???????
Feel like a right eeeeeeeediot.
If any Welsh Zedders want to take over the helm for that date... no probs.
Sorry guys.

what date !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
give me a date and time and ill b there im up for this sunday btw
Great roads and scenery. Came back from Tenby on Saturday (business-definitely not pleasure) was a toss up between M4/5/6 or pootle up the A483.
MOH was worried that if I got stuck behind caravans, we'd be a gonner. Was really suprised, only got one rolling roadblock and two motorhomes all the way up. Didn't notice any speed cameras and no Heddlu about. Trip took 4 hrs on a Sat afternoon, bliss.
I'd be up for a run down there, if it coincided with business.
One question: does everyone stick to the speed limits in Wales? Noticed everyone violently slammed anchors on when they hit a 30 sign.
