F1 this year (Spa)
Planning on going to a formula one race this year. Presume it will be Spa as its easy to get too and in my opinion is one of the big races.
Will be camping and getting a GA ticket. Anyone else been/going and have some advice?
well just though id find out if i was prior book that weekend, i am its my cousins wedding. I have asked her to change the date but she though i was joking.... anyone been to any of the others? Monaco would be good but i can imagine you dont get to see much. Whats the atmosphere in Barcelona like?

I don't know yet. I've just found out that my son can't go, so I'll be on my own, which makes accommodation easy - sleeping bag in the back of a van, perhaps.Michael McGovern wrote:have you been to Monaco before? Im thinking of doing the whole weekend at one of the races, i can see Monaco being a pain getting in and out every day to take advantage of cheaper accommodation.
I'll probably only do the Saturday, though.

iv been wanting to get a van for ages, but i already have 2 cars, i cant really justify it.
iv read up a bit on the GA tickets at Monaco, apparently it worth while getting a seat at this one as the places in the GA sections are usually hanging of the side of a rocky side ect with no screens about.
maybe i could drive down to the spanish GA then do GA Thurs and sat monaco and sunday seated and have a weeks holiday in between? but that does mean il prob have to bring my gf instead of my mates.
spa would of been so simpler.
if i do end up going Monaco we should meet up for a beer or two.

I'll be at Monaco this year
We are based on a Yacht in the harbour, so water taxi to and from the hotels...
Even have the table booked for the lunch on the Saturday practice...
Dropped on lucky getting intoduced to a ex F1 PR guru...
Oh! and Yes were paying for it
The wifes first visit to a F1 and whilst we agree not the most exciting race, it has a certain thing about it.

Hi,
I've been to Spa before and even though it's a cool track, it's not easy to overview. I would not go to Spa again.
This year I'll going along with my girlfriends dad, We'll be going to Hockenheim. It's easy to overlook, the surroundings are very high class and it's a real high-speed circuit.
Don't go along and buy a 1 day ticket. Stay there for the whole weekend. You'll get to see Porsche Cup, Ferrari Cup, F3000 racers and a lot of other cool stuff.
Oh yes... Make sure you get a ticket from where you can see the time-board or else you'll lose track of the ranking after 5 rounds. Very important to remember this!
Have a nice trip whatever you'll end up doing

sounds good it would be rude not to, you are so close to the track you could go for a long business lunch?
