Please help. The money will go to a good cause. email me for the link to my fundraising page.
Oh, drat! I hope you lot have been practising your parking since Tatton last year.Canman wrote:Zroadster are to park in area K in a 'fan style'
Nice piccy on the bottom of the newsletter - some of those cars look VERY familiar.
Just hope it stays fine long enough this week for me to clean mine.
Cheers R.

Just seen that parking up is at 9.15 and public in at 10am, we are not meeting till 9.45, i presume this is already arranged.
Thank me if you wish but at least it should be a laughZed Carer wrote:You can thank Titan for persuading Chris to let us do this and we have almost worked out all the setting out information. We've never quite managed a straight line before so we thought we'd try something a bit different.
This is what I had in mind but seeing the odd shape of the parking area we have been allocated it may need tweaking a little.
It's based with the front of the outer cars being on a 20m radius.
Any thoughts or comments?
Please don't be too harsh - it took me ages to draw all those nice Zeds
Now if we could pull that off it would look cool. How about arranging the colours as well or is that a logistical bridge too far.

So what's the colour split of our group?
Are there some zeds going who are not in our group? who would be an unknown colour at this stage... probably silver though
BTW Titan, it's a very nice drawing but my other half says you have waaayyyy too much time on your hands
Did Gill make a valid point about the time or are we okay arriving after 10?

Looks great, T. You even managed to get zeddy looking zeds.
The hard part is going to be getting the inner arc in position if it isn't marked out in any way - I think you will need to start with the middle car and work outwards.
I can see us having to do some valet parking for a few people though.
Cheers R.

Can I suggest that one of us brings a stake and some cord/rope so we can pick our centre and produce an accurate arc at the required radius. We would then firstly set the inner arc up allowing the outer arc to be setup running the cord between the inner arc cars and each car just driving upto the person holding the cord.

Looks good to me, Titan you're the manTitan wrote:Already got a "ranging rod" (red and white surveyor's pole) and some blue rope
However given the shape we have to cater for, how about this instead
(it's based on a 35m arc)

It's not sitting that worries me, it's the doo doo they do when they are sittingZed Carer wrote:Never mind being camouflaged I'd be worried about the birds that sit in the trees
I'm not intending to shove anybody anywhere (yet !)
With no definite idea of scale to work form, it's only a guesstimate plan.
I think a short discussion when we see the site in the flesh as going to be required
However, as we have no plan (or apparent ability) to park in straight lines, we should stand half a reasonable chance of creating mayhem somewhere
My fingers and everything else crossed for LUFC
I well recall being ribbed mercilessly by a work colleague when Hull were promoted to the Premiership and Leeds failed in the play-offs At the start of this season I bet him that next season Hull would be playing Leeds in the Championship.
So far my cunning plan is going tickety boo
I have several pints riding on the outcome (not to mention a certain 'smirk' factor)
Titan - you deserve a few pints if you can pull this parking off -
I've no doubt that despite everyone's efforts when I get back to mine some Citroen Saxo will have parked so close I'll have to get in via the passenger door

Cheeky monkey, I was right, it was everyone else that was wrong.

Nor am I confident that we can achieve a decent fan shape without potentially "grid locking" vehicles at the centre
So I've devised a back-up plan (with jonttt provision) as below:

Hi
I am now attending with a passenger. Currently re designing garden and my mam wants to have a look at the flower show for some new plants.
Tried to purchase a single ticket but website does not offer this so I have had to buy a new ticket for display car, driver plus passenger for £7. So it has cost me £12.50 including the original ticket when I was coming on my own!
My car will still have the hardtop fitted to it as my garage is currently full with paving slabs, cobbles, bags of concrete, sand etc ... for the aforementioned garden makeover. I simply have no room or time to move stuff around so its coming with the top on. I haven't been able to take it off before now as I've been recovering for the last 3 months after an op to my knee.
Jibes awaited!!
See you all tomorrow
Regards
Orinoco

Revised Parking Plan
As some of you may have gathered, I'm a life-long Leeds fan.
In view of the fact that Leeds Fans are celebrating tonight, it has been necessary to modify tomorrow's fan parking layout.
It will now looks like this:

Final Numbers (Hopefully)
Assuming that I don't get any more PM's tonight the final numbers are:
Ferrybridge 15, Wetherby 7, Boroughbridge 9, Direct to Newby 1 = 32
I've edited the first post to show the changes.

What a lovely day
Thanks for organising it ZC
I understand we nearly lost jonttt - he missed Ferrybridge (again ) but he made some excuse about being late and heading straight to Wetherby...
However we stood and shivered while waiting at Boroughbridge
Then we queued while the TVRs bought tickets at the gate....
There was a nice subtle pink Z with us by this point
And eventually we got to our allocated patch of grass:
Unfortunately my camera settings were wrong so the picture is not very good but we managed some "different " parking
I hope you all enjoyed the day - and have got better pictures to show
Thanks to everyone for coming and helping to achieve a "parking first"
It was lovely to meet you all - old faces and new.
Lastly a special thanks to Barbie Princess. I shall look forward to seeing pics of my "valet parking"

How many people with bits of string and a pole does it take to park some cars neatly??...
Titan did a great job but I'm not sure that it spelt out 'Leeds' as the plan had shown.
And at last the pink was revealed in public...
But there were plenty of other colours -
and a few other marques as well
After a chilly start this turned into a great day out. Nice to see everyone and we'll do it all again at Harewood in September!

Big thanx to zedcarer for sorting out a great day, even though i nearly got totalled on way home, ( how come people can not see cars on motorways and try pulling out when they get along side ) or was it i was going tooooo fast for him to see me. Really nice to put faces to names and meet all. Mind i think on the way home i ended up with more flys on the car than zedcarer had.

Thought i had best put other half in.
