Northern BMW Festival at Tatton Park - 11th July 2010
I have updated the lead post with those whom we think are taking part in the Bimble. Please let me know if you wish to be take part.
I need to confirm numbers for the EM tomorrow, so please please can everyone let me know if they are definitely dining with us. For those of you who were planning on watching the footy - now that the inevitable has happened - you are more than welcome to come along - I just need to know how many!
Finally, those who are on the "interested" list, please can you let me know whether you wish to come along.
Look forward to seeing you all on Sunday morning.
Cheers R.
PS Unwashed zeds may be made to sit in a corner.

Hi Robert
Numbers look very healthy - more than last year! I'll contact Geoff tomorrow night to give him an idea of numbers and the possible amount of space we'll need! to help him set out the show ground on Saturday.
As usual I'll be at the park ahead of you hoping to get us on our own patch.
See you Sunday

Numbers have been confirmed for the evening meal. I have also brought it forward to 6.30pm. I have updated the lead post and added a link to their menu. I may be able to squeeze some extras in, but I would have to phone first.
After reading the menu, I'm feeling a little peckish now.
Cheers R.

Washed my car using buckets today.
I tried a little experiment and filled the buckets with the hose at the same pressure as I usually use to wash the car (not full pressure) to get an estimate of how long I would have used the hose for with the water needed using buckets.
Although a rough estimate I can safely say I would have used much less water with the hose
I'm sure they just ban them not because you use less water with a bucket but because most people are too lazy to do it if they can't use a hosepipe.
I was tempted to use the hopepipe but chickened out last minute as I just know the magistrate living next door would have video'd me (she is the nosiest woman I've ever met )
Anyway what a pointless exercise that was, if they are going to do it they should just ban you from washing your car altogether

Special postcode, just for Simon - KW1 4YR.
For everybody else, please check the lead post and check the link to the map as the postcode doesn't quite hit the mark. Booths is not visible from the main road - it is round the back of the court building on the other side of the road to the Shell petrol station. Entrance is normally by turning right at the big set of lights if you come in from North, passing the Shell petrol station on the left.
Cheers R.
PS Simon, only joking - please check the lead post like everybody else.

Just got back form a great day (ready to watch the world cup).
We were easily the biggest contingent of BMW's there and had to be split into 2 groups for parking again.
Was good catching up with familiar faces and meeting new ones.
Thanks for organising the pre meet again Rob, was great to see so many Zeds cruising in
I did not get an exact number but we must have been pushing 30 Z3's

Yes was a good turnout and I think if my counting was correct the silvers were just out numbered by the "other" colours today

Thanks to all who turned out for the day - lots of nice shiney zeds. Thanks also to Dave and Clare for their work in organising and leading the Bimble.
A few photos from the day:
I'd also like to say a big thank you to Hang_em_high for the suggestion of removing the rear light cluster in order to gain access to the inside rear wing - the Dent man managed to get two dents out of my rear wheelarch using that technique.
Cheers R.

I'd like to echo Rob's thank you to all those that turned out and made this year's event bigger again.
Thanks also go to Rob for the huge majority of the organisation and to Mike R for making sure we had somewhere to park.
I can only apollogise to the Bimblers for the minor technical difficulty that had us trapped in Knutsford at the start, buta quick Tom Tom swap soon had us going again.
Great to catch up with old faces againand to be able to put new faces to new names.
Sorry to hear you couldn't make it whiteminx, hope kitty is feeling better soon.

Big sorry to you guys for not making it, last minute problems (not the Z)
meant we could not attend.
Quick update on the M I was going to buy, I have talked the guy in to keeping his car so I will be keeping the 2.8 for now
I will have something new to show you guys.....another Just Roadster first.
Watch this space!

Hi all
Many thanks for a very enjoyable day at Tatton Park. You all made me feel welcome and I managed to pick up a few hints and tips.
Thanks Redzed(Ian) for the "convoy" to Knutsford and Rob for organising us all.
One of these days I'll manage to download some photos!!

Hi all,
Just like to say a big thank you to Rob, Clare ,and Dave, for all their efforts in organising a great day out.Really enjoyed the bimble through the peak district, could have done with a few less high speed bumps though,
(only minor damage to the spare wheel housing)For the first few miles i was a bit confused, there seemed to be a horse box leading the way
(but at least it was silver one ).
And ending the day with a nice meal,a couple of beers, and great company.Oh and despite Rob, dave and Waynes expert advice i still cant get my head round posting pics.
Many thanks once again Maurice and Andrea.

My Z3 isn't even lowered but it is still on the original rear shock absorbers (the fronts were replaced 2 years ago) and we had one really big bottoming - I didn't dare look as it sounded like the top mount had failed - but it looks as if I now have a modified spare wheel carrier.maurice the martian wrote:Really enjoyed the bimble through the peak district, could have done with a few less high speed bumps though,

Now ordering new shocks plus top mounts. Great fun even though the speed warning device in the passenger seat was a bit over active at times - hasn't got an off switch

Thanks to Rob for organising the butties meet and to those in the NW region BMWCC for giving us somewhere to show off our zeds - we definitely had the largest turnout. Some belated pics from me:
