Very last minute Southerners Cruise this weekend?

Post by Dave'z3 »

Having finally come to terms with the fact that I couldn't make it up to billz cruise, I was wondering if any fellow southerners wanted to meet up and/or knew any good routes for this weekend?

I know it's incredibly last minute, but I've been waiting for someone more local to suggest something.

Any input would be great! Only ever been to one cruise that was organised (VERY WELL) by Mr and Mrs Ragtop, a lot to live up to!

Cheers,

Dave

Trust me...if I could, I would be there. Only got back from Lincoln sunday and it works out to £120 in fuel just to get there. Let alone the spirited driving on amazing roads once I get there! Then food and accommodation on top of that. I'm gutted I can't go, as there is no doubt that it's going to be a great cruise. Hope everything goes to plan and you all have a brilliant weekend!

Thanks for the invites...they almost made me force myself...

We would love to join you Dave but we are in Gran Canaria at the moment. We will also miss the Surrey/Sussex cruise as well unless the flight is brought forward 12 hours. :bawl:

On the cruise you are having this weekend the only advice I can offer is, you are better off having left turns on roads preferrably branching off, rather than trying to turn right at junctions, as this will help to keep the Zed's together. Also try to avoid too many traffic lights if possible.

If you look at the route we did a couple of weeks ago it went in a anti-clockwise direction so therefore avoiding too many right turns.

It is nice to have a break in the middle for refreshments and a toilet break.

I'm pleased your enjoying your Zed, you certainly have the Zed bug. :)

Enjoy your cruise Dave. :drive

Hey ron,

Can now see why your cruise went do well regardless of the road being closed! It doesn't look like people are available this weekend and was only really a last minute on the offchance type thing. Thanks for the advice regardless and when I do end up organizing something I'll be sure to follow the "turn left strategy" as I can see how it could cause problems.

Hope you're enjoying your holiday (especially the weather) I've been to GC and it really is gorgeous! Bert you wish you had your zed to truly enjoy it! Shame about the sussex cruise, as I'll probably be going solo as maria is in ireland sitting exams!

All the best,

Dave.

PS-I'm not sure bug is quite the right word for what I have :-p almost viral!

Dave,

I'd be interested in a little run out at some point over the weekend, except tomorrow. When/where were you thinking about? I'm near Surbiton. There are some nice roads around Box Hill/Dorking area. If you're interested in doing something maybe you can PM me your phone number & we can talk about trying to sort something out.

Many thanks.

I'd be up for that on Sunday. You know anywhere half decent for a lunch stop? Looks like a nice route.

no idea about pubs, plenty around Godalming for a bite about opening on a sunday.

Won't be going late, hate driving when the roads are too busy
