A Special Meet and Cruise 17 September
A Special Meet and Cruise 17 September
Now just what were these 3 Zeds doing at Ferrybridge Services just before 09:30 on a Saturday morning?
Much programming of sat-navs and finishing coffee before setting off for???
Picking up our passenger for the day:
Apologies to Canman that the weather meant that we could not deliver your special treat today but it will be re-arranged and we won't tell anyone what it is until we have the photos ' So we settled for a run to the water turbine mill at Rowsley, lunch and a run round some of Derbyshire's roads.
Being of very discerning taste Canman chose to ride with Aceman in the ///M and that left Titan driving whilst I could sit back and relax
Being followed by a ///M
Some non-vehicular obstructions
The sunshine and showers meant that the roofs were down/up/down but we also got plenty of rainbows.
We couldn't find a boat out on the moors so we had to settle for "Three Men on a Rock"
On the run down the back road to Castleton - thanks to Aceman's brother for providing details of this road plus afternoon tea and coffee.
After Castelton it was Winnats Pass and then over Barber Booth to get a great view down Edale.
Before finally returning Canman home:
A thoroughly enjoyable day with a very special person.

For a very special Zedder
Thanks to ZC for navigating and to Aceman for the (as yet) unfulfilled surprise for Canman.
Here's a few pics from me:
The weather we mixed to say the least.
Here we had a quick stop to get the tops up before it rained...
Inside Caudwell's Mill at Rowsley
It's well worth a visit and the cafe was superb
Swans racing in the mill race
Tops down again and a nice rainbow as well
"Sunshine and showers"

Today we got to give Kevan his special treat which unfortunately we couldn't do a couple of weeks ago due to the weather.
Sorry Zed Carer and Titan couldn't make it due to other commitments but Kevan and I had a fantastic day just wish you guys could have made it.
So the special treat was a flight in a microlight courtesy of my brother who Kevan can't thank enough having found something that makes him smile even more than driving a zed
We started by arriving at the airfield at Ashbourne in Derbyshire and without much delay we got Kevan suited and booted in his flight suite and strapped in.
Having got airborne it was quite apparent he was enjoying himself and all those pre-flight jitters were gone.
Here are a few aerial shots of the derbyshire countryside;
Chatsworth House
Alton Towers
Ashbourne Airfield
A great day and a big thumbs up from the man himself

had a brilliant day, Kevin was an excellent pilot and talked me through everything and really made the experience enjoyabe from start to finish.
The microlite was such a great piece of kit and the views were almost surreal, but truly amazing.
Aceman so many thanks for taking the time to take me and having the chance to enjoy the great ///M you have
Terry and Bill thanks also for putting the time into the planning of such an incredible day.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it Kevan - I can't even see any brown stuff on that flying suit!
It's a shame it didn't come as the total surprise we had planned but judging from the pictures the wait was well worth it.
You definitely had the best ride going at Alton Towers
In the end, me 'n Bill didn't do much - it was all down to Aceman and up by his bruv

strangely, whilst flying over Alton towers i was thinking they must be mad to go on them rides, maybe one or two of them looked up and thought the same of us.

Wow Kevan what a great day and it looks and sounds as if you really enjoyed yourself - watched a microlight go past just as we were setting off this morning and it looked like a very nice way to travel.
Like Terry I am sorry that I couldn't be there (just to see your face ') but this was all Ian's doing and we're just glad that it turned out so well.
