If you do the Dolomites, you must go over the Grossglockner HighAlpine Road to get there: http://www.grossglockner.com/

One of the Great Drives.

 OOooooo!!!!! Happy Days--- took the CSL Coupe over the Grossglockner in 1977, made some good progress but needed to have been fitter for all those turns!!!!.

Try and pick a less busy date/time , so you can relive the Climbs of the past.

Who else can nominate their GREAT driving roads in a Top Ten.??????

Z4M brake lights

Post by BigDave »

I want one!
Did antony else notice the brake lights, about 50 seconds into the clip?
He brakes for a corner, lights come on, then presumably brakes a bit harder and more lights come on. New safety feature to tell people behind how hard you are braking or a wiring fault?

I think a read somewhere that it is infact a new safety feature from BMW that when you break harder extra break lights come on.

That's my Idea!

Post by Alfie »

I thought of that many years ago.
I could never understand why more lights didn't come on under heavy braking.

I guess I should've copyrighted the idea, eh?

What a fool.

The E90 3 series has progressive brake lights so I would assume this is going to be used on the Z4M. I believe they are also fitted to the new 6 series and 5 series as well.

It's called adaptive brake lights...the harder you press the pedal, the more lights come on (or the brighter the lights are, depending on the implementation). Available on quite a few BMWs as 'standard' for a number of years, but not activated due to European legislation. Not sure if the legislation has been changed now to allow them, or they just turned it on for this video.
