A couple of questions from a proud new owner of a 2.8 Z3
Firstly this our first Z3, and I must say that it is a completly addictive car to drive. The 2.8 noise with the roof down is fantastic.
I have been reading a lot of the questions on the forum about front end set on the Z3, am I right in thinking that I should focus my efforts on a strutbrace and Poly bushes ?
Has anybody fitted a carbon fibre strutbrace, and is it worth the extra cost ?
Many thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum MarkOliver wrote
Have fun.
Know the feeling well. my wife had a 1.9 Z3 from 2001 to last year when she finally succumbed and got a Z4 for her daily commute. In March instead of replacing my "sensible" car I got a 99 2.8 Z3 for sunny days - my wife thought it was totally frivolous, etc. But now she always wants to take the Z3 out at weekends - she likes the noise and the power.Still spending all my time debating with my wife about who gets to drive the car??
Have fun.

Hi Mark,
Welcome to the forum.
I have a weichers carbon strut brace. Weighs no more than a golf club. Really good item. I would recommend one of these.

I should think the difference in weight between a CF and a metal strut brace makes less effect than if you'd skipped breakfast that day or not.MarkOliver wrote:Has anybody fitted a carbon fibre strutbrace, and is it worth the extra cost ?
Use the Search button before posting newbie questions about hard tops and fitting kits, footwell speaker amps, water in the boot, hood maintainance and those horrific angel eyes. We get like 10 threads a week on the same subject, it's obvious that you haven't searched.
Consider upgrading the suspension to something like KW Variant 3 before adding a Strut Brace. I did that on my //MR and haven't needed a strut brace at all and the handling is vastly improved.
Welcome to the group anyway.

By the way nearly 2 years on and the novelty factor still hasn't worn off for me either.

Now with both the 411 bhp Supercharged Z3MR and a WRX STi Wagon getting a 3.4 litre transplant and an XKR with mods planned.
