To be honest can't see any point in putting the car off the road for the winter I am not saying use it in the snow but we get some great sunny days in the winter months and you cant beat driving with the roof down in these conditions.
Plus these cars are suitable to drive all year round I used to drive my ///M all year and it was great fun.

Only my opinion

I agree we have more sunny, dry days in the winter than the summer, just need a hat and scarf to enjoy!!

A garage keeps it new not a Sorn

Mine will stay in the garage over winter, I have an old car that I can use, and a Z3, but the M will be SORNED.
so:
It wont receive stone chips from the salt,
It wont go on greasy salty roads that, even though it may be sunny, haven't dried out.
Putting the power down with cold roads and tyres can be risky, (yes fun, but risky)
The amount of days I feel like getting the car out, has to be divided by the £250 I can save on 6 months tax, so each one becomes an expensive journey.
No one will going into it sideways on an icy day
It will feel even more special when it comes out again,
It doesn't go out in the rain now, so why take it out in the salt.

I agree entirely that a garage keeps it like new, it's driving them in gritty/salty conditions that takes the toll,
so the garage it is then....on SORN

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Unfortunately I won't know if I can stay the course, every time I have to get something out of the garage. :head: having the Z3 will hopefully ease it...

Agree with Gookah, yes your missing some of the Zeds enjoyment factor through the winter months but I feel tucking the Zed away does go a long way too keeping it in tip top condition for summer use. Worse thing for the car is all that lovely salty water getting into every nook and cranny. If I lived in sunnier climes then the Zed would be used all year round.

For many who maybe will only keep the Zed for couple of years and move onto something else its not an issue.
