old boy - new z

Post by clougha7 »

After a break of 3 years we have taken the plunge and put a deposit down on a hellrot red 2.0 ltr z3 , W reg
previously we had a green 2 .8 ltr z3 , this one seems to be in very good order , 53k and "out of the box" last lady owner for 8 years , and appears to be exactly as it left the factory............. with a few nice factory fitted extras
car is having an Inspection 2 service and new rear widow , ready 9th June , cant wait ! really looking forward to being behind that silky smooth 6 cylinder engine again , will make a nice change from my transit connect (110 bhp) and 53 reg golf tdi estate ( 90 bhp)
will post up some pics when I collect it

Cheers

Yep it was the colour that swayed SWMBO - we went to look @ it in the morning - went for some lunch, and then went back and bought it in the afternoon - I am chuffed to bits , looking forward to USING it - I don't do garage Queens - hoping to get on some Events with like minded zedders...........

Dave, that won't be a discussion, it'll be an onslaught!! :D. But the picture of my zed might give a clue as to my favourite colour!! Also like Red and Black and Estorial in the M. :)

Cheers

PS Mint/Dave - stop hi-jacking a red thread with all your 'blueista' talk!

I was always worried about red paint oxidising. Is that still the case or have things changed?
I like blue too but my Zed is green. The paintwork is in very good condition with no lacquer peal. It is not showing it's age (1999) unlike it's owner!

Metalmickey, modern water based paint suffer less from fading but you do have to keep on top of red cars more than metallics in my experience. Dave.
