newbie from Herts they call me k9 paul Iam a dog handler/spec trainer just bought a z3 3.0 I .got a little squeak at idle any ideas gem is go charging ok it's only on idle

Welcome to the forum buddy. The squeak is very likely one of the 2 belt tensioner pulleys. At worst it may be the water pump.
Log onto www.realoem.com and at the top left where it says "Serial No." enter the last 7 digits of your VIN No. and hit enter... then click "Browse parts".... then click on the "Engine" icon and scroll down to the image of the "belt drive water pump" image, it's part# 11287838797. Also alongside that is the "belt drive climate compressor" diagram which shows the other tensioner - part # 11281437450

On that same "Engine" page you will find the water pump and related parts.
