Hi people

Hi, I am new on this. I joined after looking at the great info I can receive for my Z3. I have only had it one week and have had neons fitted underneath and a full Scorpion Exhaust system. Any one any other ideas on mods or usefull web sites.

Hi.

Post by Alfie »

Welcome Oakthorn.

Congrats on the new car and the uprated pipes.

Your next mod?
Get rid of the neons.
It's a BMW, not a Corsa...... :head:

AFTER you've done that, then add a front strut brace.
This will make a world of difference to the handling, but check with your insurance company first because some don't allow safety mods like this.

Cheers.

Each to their own guys, remember the Angel Eyes debate?

Indeed and check out this mod too http://www.mz3.net/articles/249.html some where there is a diary of the way its done, using one Electroluminescent strip zig-zagged the length of the gills, it has proved to hard to find :head:

Use the Search button before posting newbie questions about hard tops and fitting kits, footwell speaker amps, water in the boot, hood maintainance and those horrific angel eyes. We get like 10 threads a week on the same subject, it's obvious that you haven't searched.

I agree with Gazza!

I like the look of neons, to me they look pretty but it doesn't mean that I would go and do it to my car.
1. I'm way to old
2. I like my car just the way it is.
No chrome add ons, did all that with my old Mini 8-)
No extra body bits just plain and simple .....how can I call the Zed plain and simple
I think I'm trying to say that it's beautiful enough in the buff (wish I could say the same about me :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: )

Good link estocks. I've actually looked at this page before, not with the intention of fitting, just curious to see the effect. The only neons I've ever fitted were on my sons yokomo remote control touring car and that was bad enough lol

But each to their own, we are all different and more importantly, enjoy your car! :D

Neons? bleurgh, not my thing - sorry mate, might as well get it resprayed in the Burberry chequered design.

But as I've been preaching myself lately, each to their own. Must practise what I preach, so out of curosity, I'd like to see what it looks like on a Zed, have never seen one on the zed before, so post some pix please.

Yeah, to a point, but surely you gotta draw the line somewhere.
Comparison to the Burberry hood is about right. As discussed before, Zeds don't appeal to chavs, which is absolutely fine.

There's a reason for that.

You want neons?
Please, sell your Zed and spend your dosh on a 1.1 Clio with stuck-on plastic bits.

I have no problem with either. Neons are great fun if you're 17 years old and want to make your small hatchback a little more interesting and eyecatching. Huge amusement and entertainment for all!

But I'm a little older than that and yep, I'm a fully paid-up member of the BMW brand snobbery club.
I desperately hope that the beautiful design classic that is the Z3 never falls prey to the 17 year old neon market. What a humiliating demise.
