getting my Z3 next week

Post by muppet »

I am picking up my 2.8 roadster next week from a mate in Englandshire. Changing from a Ka , not much of a difference there then . but how will a 6 foot tall 14 stoner be after the 350 odd mile drive back to Scotland.
I am sure I will have sore face from all the smiling I will be doing but how will the rest of me feel

Welcome Muppet,

When you get home just have a pee and then you are ready to go out again!

muppet - I've been to the BMWCC Festival at Gaydon for the last 3 years.

On each occassion, I've travelled down on the Saturday and returned on the Sunday (350 miles each way). I'm of similar build to yourself and have had no problems with comfort in the car. :D

You'll probably need to stop to re-fuel once and have a break.

Whaddya gonna do with all that horsepower, Ka has 60 if I recall.

If you are too tall - cut your legs off but for gods sake keep the car!

Enjoy .

head room has always been my problem so decapitation is more likely
I am looking forward to the driving and the polishing

No, not much of a difference at all changing up from the Ka, muppet. :P

Enjoy the Zed, and welcome.

getting my Z3 next week

Post by muppet »

brought the Z back up to Scotland on Sunday, shared the drive 380 miles drive with my wife and had to steal the keys back off her.

Gary you were right got home made an excuse and went back out again.

kipper , all that extra horse . what did I do with it , I used it , Fantastic.

Headroom was a bit tight but getting the top down on the M6 made all the difference.
Heated seats and a wind deflector made it just so snug and the smile on my face just kept getting wider.

On a more serious note reverse is a pig to get into , is this a "2.8 thing" or have I bought a pig in a poke

Not sure if its the same box, but Reverse on the ///M can either be a pain in the ass to get into, or it either goes in there when you don't expect it to!

You pushing the gearstick down properly first?

Gearbox can be a bit notchy, but shouldn't be too much resistance...

Paul,

You push your gearstick down?!

Mine you just give a firm push left, has a fairly hard spring but goes in everytime

muppet - no probs. Turned out a good meet - the Two Bridges was mobbed, so we went up to Benny & Jerry's instead.

As the region covers the whole of Scotland we move the meetings around from month to month - the next meet will be either Perth or Newhouse, I'll let you know :D
