Summer Hols in France!

Post by EnthuZiaZT »

Just finishing squeezing all the luggage in the back of Monty, our Z4. It would have been helpful if we didn't have to take a 1000 PG tips teabags, which you can never find in France, of course we don't expect to use all of these in two weeks, it just that Mike likes to have a spare box, just in case there's a strike on the Ferry and we have to stay longer than intended!!
Mike spent the last week preparing the Zed, which now gleams in the garage, waiting for launch time tomorrow at 2pm.
We intend to cruise down to Portsmouth, where we have booked an overnight crossing to St Malo.
Friday morning we have arranged to meet up with Mike French on our way down to the Vendeé.
We are taking the Laptop so we may be able to post some pictures while we are there, as we are not into tapatalk or all the new fangle media gadgets.

Meeting Mike French in La Gacilly

On the first day of our French holiday, we called in to see member Mike French in the La Gacilly, the pretty French village he moved to 2 years ago. :)

We spent a couple of hours chatting about Zeds, his days in England and his experiences of running a business, ‘Day Boats’ in France, having lunch at his French friends Restaurant, before motoring on down to St Jean de Mont in the Vendeé. :sunny :drive

Two Mikes chatting about the DAY BOAT business. :thumb:

A lovely taste of the French way of life. :D

Hi Mike/Sandy,

Love the pictures. Business is booming now the sun is here to stay. 38 degs in the shed this afternoon. We're off on a jolly to Dordogne at the end of the week for a couple of days. Family Wedding. It wille good for the Zed to get a nice long run.

A point for all zroadstar members: Discounts on the boats for anyone who rolls up in a Z3 or Z4 and dont miss the Crepes and Cider at Bar Breton.

Hi Guys, yes it got to 44 degrees near Tranche sur Mer, Tues. phew!!! :sunny You can start a Sauna business in the shed aswell then!! :D

The galettes were delicious at your friends restaurant, Bar Breton, did you manage to sit and watch the Tour de France go by, sitting outside the restaurant? we did try to watch on Sky, but must have missed it. :shrug :puzzle:

Have a relaxing break, the Dordogne is on our list to visit too. :thumb:

Will put more pics of the holiday on soon. :drive
