(Sports Seats) A Polite *Request*, Resolved

Post by David »

Dear kind and caring members of this delightful forum,

Please stay the F  ck away from the beige sports seats that are currently on eBay.
I have very nearly negotiated a price that I can actually afford for a set of sports seats, after looking for many months.
These will be going in my car, not a purchase to refurbish and sell on for profit, so if you could kindly back off, I would be greatly appreciative :D

Kindest Regards,
David

I'd have thought 'polite request' would be a nicer way to phrase that than 'polite warning'.

You are most definitely correct. Edited topic ;)
Did I come across too harsh?
It was intended as tongue in cheek, with an underlying hint of truth, if anyone takes offence. :)

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

I must admit I've been watching them too. I've recently ordered roll bars, 12 months tax and 2 new door mirrors so you should be able to out bid me :?

not sure I can find them ;)
could you post link so we know which ones to avoid.... :D

besides your car will look wrong with a part beige interior... whereas I do have a beige interior (and sports seats already!)

Don't you worry Alasdair...

They'll fit my car just fine ;) ...once they get a nice treatment from the leather clinic, and I've swapped the bases with my current ones.

Someone has just bid, so seller now doesn't want to cancel the auction :(

Bad move... He would've made more money from my purchase outside of eBay. Why don't people get it?!

I'd agreed a price outside of eBay for just the seats. Saving me money, and earning him some more as there'd be no fees.

Annoying thing is that seller doesn't reply to messages during the day. All that was left was for him to send me his PayPal email :(

Just checked and there are no bids on it still. I can only guess that the seller meant somebody else has just offered him more outside of eBay also.

Will have to wait and see...

The seller has messed me around the past couple of days, and for that reason...

...I'm out.

Go ahead and bid on guys (or don't ;) )

Just a head's up...

The seller eventually got back to me, and agreed my original price.
I have paid, and he has fixed them down to a pallet for me (as pictured below), to be collected by a courier on Wednesday.

...but he is yet to remove the listing.
So, don't bid if you were still considering these, as either a) he will hopefully be removing the listing this evening, or b) he is a con artist.

(I'm hoping for outcome a) :dunce: )

I couldn't even find the listing when I looked.

They are listed here:

For some reason, not once did they show up on the first page of results.

Sorry Cal :(

I'm surprised you didn't bid on the red and black ones? They went for only £265 in the end... A fair price, given the popularity of the red and black design.

I did see them, my car is blue with the same colour interior as your new seats so they really wouldn't match my car.
