Z3 "Hell" Red 2.0 6 Cylinder

Post by Wolverine_1999 »

Hi All,

This is my new car below, and some of my Coupé M Sport also..

Lend me your thoughts and suggestions. Will be removing the amber reflectors in the headlights soon enough, and putting clear side repeators. Hope to get clear rear lights as some point as well!

Looks great, the Z really suits that shade of red.

I dont think i've seen that style of wheels before, they are a bit special 8-)

That would be my dream garage right there - a Z3 and an E46 coupe, health to enjoy your new one.

Wolverine, car looks gorgeous :thumb:

Lovin those wheels, they sit on the zed perfectly. I don't think I've seen those with a split rim look before.

Are they really split rim or single piece do you know? I have a feeling you've get lots of questions about them as they look so nice on your Z

Lovely car, it's nice to see a few 2 litres turning up on the forum, it's always appeared to be the forgotten model of the range

It was good to see those wheels on a Zed, there on E-bay and called Cruize they come in a staggard 8 & 9x18 with an ET41, lovely.

The wheels aren't Cruize actually, because they have the cheap polished rim ;-)

They are RS-JK5 will stainless steel rim so no flaking/discolouring from the effects of the weather. They are single, not split :-)

Opps!!....very sorry  Depends on the quality of the stainless.
So if they are one piece are they all s/steel or alloy with a s/steel trim :?:

Hi Wolverine,

What size alloys are they? I'm guessing 8x18? and tyre sizes please?

Cheers,

Tim.

Is this a typo or have you got an 8x19" rim at the rear?

Offset is 42 maybe? Don't know if that sounds right to you. But they fit 3 series, Z3, Z4 etc.

No spacers either, just straight on :)

Tim, assuming these are one piece ? ask questions about the polished lip. If they are just "plated" they are likely to "flake"/bubble especially with the wide lips that lends itself to water siting on it

Thanks for your help guys :) around 600 notes for both types so look a good price compared to say BBS

Gone off BBS as a make lately as their wheels don't seem to be that durable over time for what you pay for them :(

Great pics, the Zed is looking fab :) and looks much better slightly lowered.

How are the alloys holding up any corrosion issues on the lips? have they had any winter use? I ended up with the Schnitzer Type 3s in the end but I'm just looking at maybe getting a set of the RS alloys for winter with some winter tyres but can't decide on rim width. I might just go with 8x18s all round rather than having a staggered setup with 225/40 tyres.

Cheers,

Tim.

Hi Tim. The alloys are doing well. They are stainless steel rather than polished so have much longer durability. They are the 18x8 + 18x9 setup.

Cheers for getting back, have ordered a set of 8x18s, looking forward to getting them and fitting the all weather tyres and getting them on the Zed :) hopefully sorted for winter :squeeze:

I like the rear AC splitter and combined with the rieger front splitter it evens up both ends nicely. I wouldn't mind an AC one for mine and seeing yours now it has convinced me to find one. The black grilles look great as well, that's one seriously nice looking zed with the mods you have done.

I like the new rims. Where did you get acs rear spoiler?
It is hard to find even in Germany ;)

Ps. What was the reason going for halo projectros?

Wolverine, I've tried pm'ing you but haven't heard back from you. A couple of weeks ago you were going to check on postage from Germany to Scotland for your old wheels.......have you reconsidered the sale ?

If you can let me know so that I can pursue elsewhere please.

Oh I'm actually the opposite. I think the tinted marker lights tie in with the black door handle and roof ultimately.

Both stunning cars though.

Funny enough, I must get rid of the tinted ones as they do not have "E" approved markings :(

But I'm sure the white ones will look just as good :) Those ACS wheels are stunning!

Halo's were acquired for LHD TÜV.. I don't see paying €600 for LHD ones a pop  But I have to say the quality of light is much better on the projector halos also...so I will probably stick with them. The ACS rear splitter was acquired directly from ACS after I e-mailed them asking if they had any left :D It was the last one they had for €200...

Cheers Wolverine - I agree the ACS wheels work well.

Your car looks fantastic with the ACS touches and the Z4 split rims. I notice you have Z3M mirrors like me - they're a great aesthetic mod.
