Progress! (fwj01's 2.0l - Oxford Green)
Finally found some time (and money....mostly money) to spend on the Z
So... I bought him some new shoes, illuminated gear knob and smoked indicators/side repeaters
Oh, and I spent most of last weekend giving him a major detailing session...
Next on the list is a decent set of coilovers to close those arch gaps!!!
Some pics....

Here's a better pic of the mk4

I think they will fit (hopefully!!) shall see by the end of the year
As you say tyre strech will probably be a must Theres an American Z with these on, the rears are on the front and the front ones have been widened and put on the back. have a looky

Thanks! Love your car btwyalden wrote:I'd like to fit a set of Z3m wheels to mine, I'd probably fit some 20mm spacers to the front to even up the front & rear poke.
Good first mods, next on the list...? Suspension...
Definately once it's been lowered I will need to stick some spacers on the front. Also the tyres on the back are 245's at the moment, so when I lower it might change them to 225's for some strech
Looking into coilovers at the mo', looking for some decent ones maybe AP, want ones that give a pretty stiff ride, any reccomendations?

Went for Weitec GT's in the end, rides absolutely perfect took the rear adjusters out for that tiny bit extra low-ness, talking about the rear... both my old springs were snapped at the bottom, don't know if it's a common problem?
A tiny bit of rubbing on really really bad roads, but nothing major
Although having said that, it's a bit close to my driveway on the way in/out

That drop is awesome, where did you get the springs from and what tyre size did you go for at the back?
This is my effort
needs lowering
it was too low when I bought it though, grounded out on everything

Yours looks awesome
Got the coils off e-bay (Demon Tweeks) The front would go lower, but decided to wind them up by about 10-15mm otherwise I'd loose my bumper
The tyres are 225/40 on the back and 195/45 up front. The 225's were on the front so decided to try them on the back to save some cash, think they will be staying on

Looks great and demonstrates that M wheels DO fit a non-M if done right! If it's catching from time to time, just roll the lip on the rear arches, simples. I paid about £30 for both mine to be rolled
What is the build quality on the Weitec's like? I'd like to buy a new set of coilovers for mine as the budget kit I have is pretty naff really!

They are great! Honestly would reccommend them to anyone Really happy with how much they drop and the comfort....
Arch rolling = Done It was a must, there was about, well less than a centimeter gap between the sharp edge of the arch and the wheels
Seconded on the fantastic photoshantybeater wrote:Fantastic photo!fwj01 wrote:

That looks a real mean machine. Well done.... Oh i have your picture on my phone as well
Yep of course! The rear rubs a bit if there's a dip in the road (when going a bit too fast) but there's no visible rub marks on the tyresEvmundo wrote:Serious question..................can it be driven fast when it is that slammed? do your teeth hurt?
Having said that I found a lovely road earlier, went round a bend a bit too fast found the road was cambered at the other side of the bend and errr... Bang, grounded out... No damage done and safe to say I won't be going there again
The coilovers are really comfortable, not too rough and not bouncy like the standard suspension. So yep can definitely still give him some abuse on the roads
Now that looks immense! Cant wait to get ours done

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..
OK, so I'm going to be the troublemaker here!
Why didn't you just buy an M?
